Battery sizes

Hello guy's
I think I understand about evenly distributing cells and packs.
But what about battery sizes, rather than having one huge battery can you have several? and do thay have to be the same size?
Can you have for example a 2 Kwh battery and a 3 Kwh battery on the same solar panels and same inverter? Both batteries being 48v

Yes you can. As long as packs inside a string is the same and you have equal cables and sizes it will work. Check my setup out as example

Yes, all connections need to be as close to identical as possible to minimize imbalancing effects. Just having a cable a foot longer for one pack over another could cause problems down the road. Or, make your bms waste even more power as it's working harder to keep the packs in balance
