Hi,

I rode a friends ebike today - 18650 powered running one of these. 13s20p.

I was curious if I should try 12s, easy to charge, to 6s lots on my RC charger.

Has anyone had much to do with these cheap ebike motors? They have plenty of power, but I was wondering how long to expect the motor/controller to last?

I have something similar, a 48V 500W rear wheel hub motor running on 12S. Had it for a couple of years now and still going. The hand grip twist throttle is getting a bit wobbly otherwise it's still good.

The price is so good you can hardly go wrong.
I'm considering getting one to make my bafang giant a dual motor. :D

By my calculations I would have to go 20p to supply the 20a current that would be required - for 1000w. However for starters I might limit to 5p, and only 250w. However, I cant see using 1kw for anything but the shortest of bursts, if at all.

Being laptop batteries, I don't feel comfortable pulling more than 1a per cell.
