Hi,
I’ve have few problems recently, the main one is my batrium says “cannot save as it’s in read mode” I cannot change and save any changes I do and I need to do some changes, can anyone help?
Thank very much,
Phil.

I haven't gotten my Batrium yet, so I have no real experiemnce.

You need to have the Batrium hooked to a PC with a usb cable. If Batrium does not see a physical connection you cannot go into Technician mode.
Now once you have a USB connection you can make OTA (Over the Air) changes from another installation of Watchmon Toolkit.
If you have the blue power plug showing you are good to go.

No you dont need wired connection to do changes. I have not done that for last 2 years :)
The only thing you need wired connection to today is to upgrade the firmware.

OK then explain to me if I unplug the watchmon USB cable from a powersource whether laptop or a 5V USB battery bank, I cannot enter technician mode and change setting?

Dont know why you cant do that to be fair :) But as said i have not had mine connected for years :p That was removed pretty early when i started to use batrium and only the first versions i had did not have write on wifi but it was pretty quickly added by request.

This is important since i have 4 batriums running myself :)

4 batriums. Showoff;)
OK I will check it out again. and report back. I gave the answer above as this was my experience when trying to do an OTA settings change.

I recently installed a new WM4 in the cargo trailer and I noticed it was in "Technician mode" as I did the initial longmon network connections / setup. I was doing this thru the USB connection initially as @Wolf pointed out. I also reset the admin password. Since then, I've had it on/off a few times as I work on / test out the trailer and its normal now. Not sure how it got to 'normal'.

There is an "Allow TechAuth" option and I have mine On - maybe that affects things?

Thanks very much for the replies,
I had the wire in as I was trying to alter setting with my pc, I put in my setting but it won’t save them?
I’ve tried it without the 12v plugged in to the batrium too, so I know the wire was working, do I have the correct wire 🤔
I’m not sure if I’ve tried it but there could be another way to get around this, how do I connect it to WiFi?

Hmm I will look at this first thing tomorrow and let you know if it sorted it, thank you 🙏
Also I have the watchmon 4 will i have this option?

I couldn’t wait till the morning, I just tried to look for that “allow techauth” but it wasn’t on mine, I had to download the previous update as well, the newest wouldn’t work, this is what it says when I have the usb wire in and try to save changes 🤷🏻‍♂️

Wow - you don't even have the option to "Allow TechAuth" and you have some new/extra passwords for USB and WiFi that I don't have (and don't need). I'll certainly not be upgrading for now...

Will Batrium support answered the question of how to make changes?
