Batrium and Grafana

Or easier route is just to run the watchmonudplistener in an container and you dont have to code :p
He he OK but what would the fun be in that? After all this is a DIY project not HSDIFY (Have someone do it for you) LOL.
We all have the Batrium Interface already but we just want more don't we?
I happen to like node-red you like MQTT no problem.
I will check out your watchmonudplistener container code though just for the fun of it.
When I do update the firmware of the watchmon I will have it as backup in case I can't get node red to work. But I doubt that.

I'm not sure how to answer that. Do you have any friends that have some programing experience?
Maybe a local linux guru you can bribe with something?

Personally i dont build something unless i need to. Like the code for the listener i built because it didnt exist and didnt do what i needed.
The Listener sends to either/or MQTT or Influx. Mqtt i use since then i can manage the data in Node-red or any other software like webpages or home assistant :) The listener is pretty simple in such a way because it only converts incomming UDP data to json format and sends to MQTT and Influx.

Exactly same here. I did the same with the node red flow and manipulated it to my liking. Unfortunately I was unaware of the 22-Dec-2020 updated firmware/software so it came as a surprise. I am not in the loop I guess. :p
I also don't have a spare watchman 4 laying around to test the modifications so I will have to do it when I decide to update. I may wait a couple of months to see if there are any undesirable features (bugs🐞) in it.

Hi @Wolf and @kevinjaye, I upgraded the firmware on my batrium with the hope that it would solve an occasional system crash that happens every month or so, so I found myself in the same situation regarding the broken NodeRed. I've been able to get it fixed so I can guide you through the process if you like. Perhaps if it's not too much trouble I'll pull out the specific data into a new node and send it over to you. The thing is i'm only looking for specific information from the batrium to run my system (you are probably the same). Cell voltages, Min cell voltage, max cell voltage, shunt amps, state of charge is all i need to run my system so if you are the same let me know and I can let you know how to get it working. Just describe what you need and I'll try to get it to you.

That sounds awesome. At this time I have not had any issues with the firmware of the batrium so I am not in a hurry to update it. In my case I pull a lot of telemetry from it including individual pack voltages (42) and a bunch of other data. As far as I can tell some of the message topic numbers and the format has changed. But yea any info on what you have found would be great.Thanks.

@Wolf that's a lot of batteries, well done, could you let me know how you built the packs and the costs involved? Perhaps you could point me to a post you made with information about the build?

I originally built a 7S160P 18650 pack, and recently doubled it to 14S but I can't imagine the work involved on getting it to 42! What sort of inverters do you use to power the loads?
 
42... I have 136... ;) Sorry couldnt help it. The thing is its about how large your packs are. Many of us have smaller and more packs due to the bms design. Its just easier to keep track of if a pack fails and you can run n+1 where you always can remove a string without taking down the system.

Cost, oh idk a lot :unsure:. But for me it is more of a learning experience, the satisfaction of renewing a disposable resource., and having an $ US 14.00 electric bills which basically is the minimum for a hookup.
I use at this time 2 GTIL2s 1000 which are grid tied and are capable of ≈900 Watts each. One on L1 and one on L2. I have 2 more that will run parallel with each one to give me ≈1800 Watts per leg if needed. It would take care of the remaining spikes of grid usage such as the coffee pot, microwave dishwasher, and the occasional +1000 Watt usage per leg. I also have a 15000 Watt Powerjack inverter on standby if the grid goes down. Overkill but you know how some countries and manufactures overate their products.
My final build will have 56 packs for a total of a conservative 500Ah (more like 720Ah) capacity which again conservatively is 25kWhs.
I have 4500 Watts of solar and the idea was to store enough power to run a week without grid intervention, This last weekends weather was quite dismal and the (3) 14s80p batteries held up well. I ran off of batteries for 4 nights and the 5th day sun again and a full charge. Disregard the empty data on the 29th as my influx database was offline due to an odd power spike and I did not notice it till later.
It is a lot of work but it has its rewards.

Show off.;) Sure you couldn't help it. Thats how all of you powerwall builders are. Can't keep quiet about how many packs you got. You and @OffGridInTheCity always touting how many packs you got. Oh wait I'm one of them too! Sorry guys. :p

I'm planning 3 more 14s @ 260ah batteries. 1 is done but not installed. If I get there, that would add 42 more packs to the existing 84 packs for a grand total of 126 packs/longmons and 112kwh. Then I'm just out of space in my battery room and $ spent on longmons and any conceivable excuse to contine!. Still a lot less than @daromer 33,000 cells :)

It's actually not that difficult in the end but saying that I havent been able to get it exactly as I wanted yet (I can get the data but it's not updating at the same speed as it used to). What I did was went to the solar-sis github page and noticed all the updates in the last six months, too the code out, created new nodes in the big message block and send the message there to the new message types. Sounds tricky to understand but it's not too bad if you dig around. My system is really a mess at the moment and held together with bubble gum and hope. I need to clear it out. As soon as I'm able to get around to it I will strip out the bits everyone needs and post them but that might take some time.
