Which Tesla batteries best to buy for PowerWall?

If you can get a BMS attached somehow to the Tesla Model 3 battery, that one is obviously the winner. Lowest cycles & the cheapest

    RC3563 IR tester

Maybe it needs such a low resistor for the accuracy

Laptop & Ebike pack supplier - North Brisbane, AU

For >2600mAh cells, you should look at ebike / scooter batteries. Laptops are often in the 1800-2600mAh range, while anything above 2200mAh is rather rare.

Inverter input voltage and battery design

You could use a lithiumbatterypcb.com bms, they can be made compatible aswell and are much much more sanely priced. https://community.victronenergy.com/questions/76159/victron-venusos-driver-for-serial-connected-bms-av.html

    Rusty cells

If i can wipe it away, i keep them. If the rust is deeper, i toss the cell. A rusty cell is a big hazard.

    Spot welder recommendation

They work, but aint great. Welds are inconsistent, they cant weld stronger materials and the battery degrades rather fast.

A "Virtual Battery" for Mobile Home usage

If you have some time, it would be interesting if you'd take apart the battery and test each individual cell again to find out which ones are the bad ones.

What's the difference between charge controller and buck converter? For microgeneration

Yeah. they have many issues on their site, but at least they are trying to put everything into the correct order in one place and not scattered around the internet.

What's the difference between charge controller and buck converter? For microgeneration

I think, cycles are a rather bad comperable statistic. Total charged and total discharged electricity would be more usefull. If i take the minimum cycle count & minimum capacity per given votlage from that side with a 3.6v 2.2Ah cell and do some simple (yet wrong, but good enough) math...

Looking for some Sony US18650VT Cells

You have some good eyes, i didn't look at that point. Maybe adding a BMS yourself, even if its just a basic one, would be very usefull. So your next batteries lasts longer.

Looking for some Sony US18650VT Cells

Guessing by the information i have, pretty much any 18650 will do the job, as long as you have 4 at least somewhat simmlar in series. If you care about capacity, you can get some LG MJ1's -> https://secondlifestorage.com/index.php?threads/lg-lgdbmj11865-cell-specifications.1737/ Or alternatively...

    Newbie with some questions

If you want to, i could try to help you remotely via videochat. You can use your phone to show me the battery and i could give some advise on what to do. I'd prefer to use discord for that.
