ADMINS : I couldn't decide which is best place to post this, so pls. move to appropriate for me
Yes you read it right, in Australia we are going to be charged when we export elec. to the grid.
What I cannot believe is the reason they are using to push this down our necks, obviously so we cannot say anything about it.
Firstly you need to understand that Elec. gen. in Oz are mostly owned by foreign companies, like nearly all of the water in our rivers. The Oz gov. does not believe that water and power are of a national interest. It is cheaper to buy Aussie gas in Japan than it is in Sydney because of the contracts our politicians signed with foreign entities. Why would you do this, well from working in Can. ACT I believe that the political parties get large donations from these foreign companies, it is that simple.
For many years I have been battling to install off grid solar panels on our property, the first electrician said if he installed panels on my property ( not my roof ) then he would have to connect them to the grid and he would be filing paperwork so the government would lower the tariff that I was receiving to export to the grid from the panels that were on the roof of the house when we bought the property.
When I asked for the paperwork that said he had to do this, he couldn't find it. "That's what we always do" was what he told me over and over. So he was booted to the boundary.
No one would install panels without submitting the paperwork to .gov.au so my tariff could be lowed to the current very low rate for the orig. panels which were on a very high tariff due to the orig. home owner getting in early.
I'm obviously a criminal mastermind and installed a couple of small panels on the roof of my 4x4 and then on the property for testing ( R & D ) and have not had the Panel Police remove them YET.
So back to foreign companies ripping off Aussies again !!!

AEMC said it had "listened to the feedback" and "tightened protections for consumers".
"
Yes they are "protecting consumers"
My personnel opinion is that we are on our own, which in rural SA has always been the case ( we do not even have a postal service ) and they are saying their poles and cables are going to crumble under the load from all the panels that the sa.gov.au subsidised. They are suggesting that this will result in more bush fires.
From my observations and analysis, global warming is the reason we are getting more bush fires, not foreign owned elec. grids.
Power companies get green light to charge solar owners for exporting to grid
Australians with rooftop solar panels will face new charges for exporting power to the grid from 2025 — but the Australian Energy Market Commission says it has listened to feedback and households will have a range of options and incentives to choose from.
