    Batrium cumulus configuration howto

Does anyone know if there is a howto out there for configuring the batrium cumulus web front end? Adding devices, configurations required on the toolkit end etc... Thingspeak is nice, but cumulus looks nicer. It would be great if it didn't need a host machine running the toolkit software too.

    %SOC on/off under batrium

Does anyone know if the watchmon + expansion supports %SOC charger/generator start/stop commands. I would like to consider moving my generator start control from my Outback vfx inverter/charger over to the BMS. My generator start/stop is controlled by a simple 12v active high signal, nothing fancy.

    Reliable source of panasonic 18650b

Does anyone have a link to a reliable AliExpress supplier of Panasonic NCR18650B's? I want to buy 20-30 cells at this time to rebuild a bunch of bicycle light packs and don't want to get stung with fakes.

Outback MX/FM controllers - some stuff I've learnt

I thought this post would be handy reading for anyone who has an Outback MX or FM series MPPT controller. I've noticed a strange behaviour this summer whereby my charger wouldn't drop into float after the absorb stage, and appeared to be absorbing .2v higher than my setpoint. I noticed the...

Converting a miniature excavator to battery power

I have a miniature excavator (mini digger, towable back-hoe depending on where you are from) that is powered by a Honda 270cc petrol engine, which has a maximum output power of 5.2Kw at 3600rpm. I would like to look into converting this to battery electric power. Looking at the power curves, I...

    Watchmon failure...

I noticed I stopped receiving thingspeak updates earlier today. Logged into the single board PC running the watchmon toolkit and it had lost usb connection to the wm4. When I got back from work the cellmon network had stopped responding, no lights on at all. The blue led was on solidly on the...

    Tracking down critical faults

For the last few weeks I've had a critical fault occurring once or twice per 24hr period. I'm certain it is not an actual cell problem (high or low voltage), I'm suspecting a bad reading from a cellmon or a shunt lockup. I've disabled everything on critical logic except cell lo and cell hi...

    Balancing troubles...

Hi folks. I'm running into a few troubles where I can't seem to bleed off enough power to get 2 low cells to come up. Attached are a couple of screenshots. I charge to 55.5v absorption setpoint and I have a 12 minute CV period (absorption timer) before I drop to float. I use an outback FM60...

    LiFePo4 200aH spotted on eBay

Just spotted these on eBay, probably from a BYD E6 that has been broken: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LiFePo4-200Ah-Cells/273372504796 Sensible price but they look a pain to wire onto with an aluminium stud terminal that isn't threaded Edit: Seller appears to have a complete E6 that they are...

    Lattepanda/win10/wm4 remote monitoring...

I got my 3g modem all sorted in my powershed, got my lattepanda running the watchmon suite and got it pushing stats to my thingspeak account. All works fine until the damn lattepanda decides to reboot on an update (I assume it's an update that's causing the reboots)... I've got the watchmon...

    Dewalt 9180 packs

I have a number of 18v XRP dewalt tools and I use the dw9180 packs in them (The nano-phosphate ones)... Anyway, the packs have started to fail in the heat of this summer and I'm now down to 1 pack. So I bought a pair of these, thinking they would at least be decent...

    Voltage settings for CALB LiFePo4

Do these settings seems safe/sensible to you guys: Absorption setpoint: 56.8 (3.55v/cell) Absorption time: 0.1hr (minimum I can set on Outback) Balance voltage 3.5v Hi-volt cut-off: 3.75v Outback FM60Float voltage: 52.8v (3.3v/cell)(I can't disable float on the solar charge controller)...

    % SOC reset

Under what conditions is the % SOC counter in the batrium software reset? On my outback FlexNet-DC it resets 'full charge' on the following conditions: Charge amps < setpoint Charge voltage > setpoint Parameters met time > setpoint Where setpoint in all those cases is user set-able. I ask...

    Remote monitoring setup

What are my options for remotely monitoring my wm4 system? Should I adopt one of the following strategies: 1. Laptop connected to wm4, GSM modem connected to laptop, vnc server running on laptop, dynamic DNS mapped to a domain... 2. Wm4 set to WiFi connection, GSM WiFi router bridged to wm4...

    Watchmon 4 contactor output

I see the watchmon has 2x outputs built in, can anyone advise if these are simple logic level outputs or whether they are supply-voltage outputs? I need to know as I'm planning how to wire up my main pack contactor which has a 12v coil. I will use a 120w dc-dc converter to supply 12v for the...

ABB 25A breaker c/w shunt trip

Purchased in error, this is an ABB Sace TMAX XT2N 160 breaker, 25a N-LSI trip included. This has the Ekip communications module fitted and also has a 220-240v shunt trip breaker fitted. Tested the shunt trip and it fires just fine. A few minor cracks in the lower section where the previous...

    ABB Shunt trip module

I'm after an ABB KT3S7 shunt trip coil to fit a T1-T3 sized SACE Tmax breaker - I'm in the UK but will happily buy from whoever can supply. I can buy new but would rather get a used one to keep costs manageable. Can anyone stateside help out? Cheers, Hugh

    Selecting a shunt trip breaker

I've been searching eBay for an ABB SACE TMax breaker - eBay UK is awash with them - however most of them don't appear to have a shunt trip on them. I've got my eye on this one...

    9.6kWh 16s build

Following on from my earlier threads on here, I decided to not use a mitsubishi outlander pack and instead settled on using Calb LiFePo4 cells, 210aH... If anyone in the UK needs any cells then speak to Jeremy at EV support, he has lots available. 16 cells collected in the ampera, 440 mile...

    GS-Yuasa LEV40 cells

OK, simple question... would you buy this pack: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2016-10000-Mile-MITSUBISHI-OUTLANDER-PHEV-Battery-Pt-No-9410A095/272806500027?epid=4006472549&hash=item3f8488d6bb:g:N-8AAOSwzhRZkwol The pack has sat since August out of the car - I'm thinking that for 1300-1500 the...
