Batrium Critical Fault - How to identify?

Here is a screenshot from Victron's VRM - They graph the reported cell voltages as reported by Batrium. As you can see at around 2:30pm yesterday something went really wrong in the BMS and it started reporting a large change between Min/Max cell voltages. At around midday, I rebooted the BMS and...

Batrium Critical Fault - How to identify?

Yeah, It's possible to downgrade the firmware - However, I have not done this. Batrium phone support basically said to pay for support and hung up. They later emailed me and again pushed the paid support - Which I can understand - They would get a lot of beginners trying stuff and not...

Batrium Critical Fault - How to identify?

I performed a 'reboot' using the Reboot System function in the Hardware -> System tab and after reboot, the three stuck cells are now reporting correctly.

Batrium Critical Fault - How to identify?

The problems are now getting worse! I woke up this morning to discover three cells at 4.1 and the rest a 4.0 - a huge difference. After measuring the voltages at the terminals on the WM5, there is no imbalance in my cells. It looks like three cells are 'stuck' reading at 4.1v. I didn't get a...

Batrium Critical Fault - How to identify?

I got no issue with that. I have an issue with a critical fault being thrown ( and hence pack being taken offline via shunt trip) and can’t identify why.

Batrium Critical Fault - How to identify?

I just reread this... I had been resetting the SOC to 100% and perhaps as the charging was still going (albeit slowly) the SOC did creep up to 100.5 etc - Thou this shouldn't cause it to start reporting 0% and trigger a critical error? It's a clue as to what might be happening thou. I have a...

Batrium Critical Fault - How to identify?

Batrium Critical Fault - How to identify?

Hi Thanks - it is very weird. Since yesterday, it's been working fine again. Fingers crossed it's not something that keeps happening - As I really don't want my breaker breaking up to 160amps over and over. One thing that was happening yesterday that may have caused 'noise' was a sunny day...

Batrium Critical Fault - How to identify?

Dunno - seems to be the case from the log - but there is no mention of this in their documentation - so not sure. it’s been in service since Jan 26 2020 and is in a locked cupboard. Very short shunt cable (40cm maybe) - never seemed to be an issue before today. Weird.

Batrium Critical Fault - How to identify?

The mystry deepens - I did a log extract, and it appears that the shunt times out before throwing a critical fault.. LogID LogDate LogTime MinCellVolt MaxCellVolt AvgCellVolt AvgCellTemp SocHiRes ShuntVolt ShuntAmp NumInBypass OpState ControlLogic #...

Batrium Critical Fault - How to identify?

Hi Peter I have WM5 - So I cant test without Longmons :-) When you say test without charge logic - Do you mean just disable everything in the screenshot?

Batrium Critical Fault - How to identify?

Hi Today my batrium keeps tripping my breaker - and I am trying to work out why. This is the log I extracted. It shows 3 critical faults, but I am attempting to determine exactly what the fault is! Does someone know how to read this log? I cant work it out. Note: I noticed Ambient Temp is...

    Large Capacity LiFePO4 Tester

You need to test each cell, and I can recommend a CBA-IV by west mountain radio. you can test at around 10 amps or if you want to go higher there are add on resistance modules available that can diss apart much more, but they are expensive. you end up with a graph of the discharge curve and...

Anyone know short circuit current of Gen1 leaf module?

I have a Merlin Gerin NS250 - which can break 50ka, and I have HRC fuses - so fingers crossed, I should be Ok.

Anyone know short circuit current of Gen1 leaf module?

Hehe no, I want to calculate the short circuit current capacity of my bank for labeling purposes. I have 21P so at 1000a a module x 21 I’m looking at 21ka. I may as well just write the infinity symbol.
