    Batrium and Australian smoke detectors

I was thinking of using the output trigger of a couple of smoke alarms to trigger critical faults on my Batrium. Smoke = bad :-) Does anyone have any info on the outputs of Australian smoke detectors - is there a standard or is it a free for all dictated by each manufacturer? has anyone done...

How warm should 70mm cable get?

Yep, cool makes sense. A little unnerving feeling heat thou. Today was hotter 30’somthing deg C. the coldest lugs/cable was 30deg C and the warmest around that fuse / breaker was 42 deg. Pulling at the time 75amps for hours.

NSW Aust - Megacell Charger - Original Batch - Brand New.

I have a Megacell charger - Brand new from I think the second batch. This batch didn't come with the fancy case like the new versions. It was posted to me in MAY 2019. As I went with Nissan Leaf modules for my wall, I never ended up using it. $150 inc postage to Australia.

How warm should 70mm cable get?

Thanks - I was worried as 70 is way short of where I want to be in terms of charging. I figure is 70-80 gets it warm, double that is going to possibly be an issue. The weird thing is, the rest of the cable run is fine. Its only around the fuse and circuit breaker (and a bit on the cable coming...

How warm should 70mm cable get?

From my understanding, 70mm flexible welding cable is good for 310 amps 100% duty cycle.. so it must be either the crimp / terminals generating the heat.

How warm should 70mm cable get?

My powerwall has been running for over a week now and I’ve noticed there is a section of cable between the fuse block and circuit breaker that gets warm when under heavy sustained load. It’s a 48v system and I use 70mm flexible welding cable and quality Cabec brand crimps - which were double...

When things go wrong... it can go really wrong!

This :-) I built a shed and put my powerwall in it.. If it burns down, I'll cry because the shed cost 30k and the powerwall over 13K. But at the end of the day, it can burn down and not hurt anyone.

    Batrium Improvements

I’m talking about a web based UI - no need to go outside your network for that. just like your internet router, it’s UI would be available on an IP on your local network.

    Batrium Improvements

I have had my powerwall on for about a week and frantically going through the Victron & Batrium learning curves. One thing I find odd about the Batrium is the software. I can see no reason why they have chosen to have Win32 based software to configure the device when a web-based interface would...

3 phase smart metering in Australia..

I don’t suppose there are any Ausgrid meter people on the forum that can tell me if the ausgrid 3 phase smart meters report back net usage (ie total of all three phases) or the individual phases? I am under the understanding we are billed on the total of all three - so if I export on L1 and...

Electrician to connect to meter and certify

The funny thing with UPS is that the connection to the grid is exactly the same - physically as a hybrid. The only real difference is the loads are connected to the output of the inverter only, where as most hybrid systems would have the loads on the input side. The only difference is damn...

    Testmon problem

I have finally finished my wiring loom and connected my 14S to my testmon. Trouble is, I get inconsistent test results. My setup passes and then fails - seemingly at random, but always with the same error - no jumper. I have checked my jumper and it seems fine. Ive restripped and put new...
