I bought eight of these this summer from SanTan and I have been pretty happy with them so far.
There is also this thread of other panels people ordered from them.
I ordered mine directly from MPP. I just sent them an email andPeggy was the person who completed my order. It should take about 20 days to arrive, so hopefully around early May I should receive it.
I have assembled the first BYD battery with DIYBMS. I wired it up to utilize the built in wiring harness. I just have to run wires to monitor the temperatures of the cells.
I would post this on the main forum for the project to see if anyone else ran into this issue with JLC.
I have assembled 20 of these boards. The first one I assembled failed because I placed the solder paste by hand instead of using a stencil. I ordered a stencil from OSH Stencils and it made...
I have finished the first round of testing for the first battery. I forgot to take a picture of the meter after the first discharge, but after recharging from 0% the battery took in 3.74 kWh, 143Ah.
I have a cheep 24v inverted coming so I can test the units a bit faster.
I am almost done testing my first pack and the results don't look promising. I currently don't have a 24v inverter, so the best dummy load I have is a few halogen work lights.
There appears to be some drama with these batteries where Second Life Storage was selling the batteries for Big Battery. The batteries that were being shipped by Big Battery for Second Life Storage were "B" & "C" grade that were not testing near the 4-4.5 Kwh that was advertised. There is an...
Definitely go the pre-assembled route with DIYBMS. It will be cheaper then buying the components, boards, solder paste, etc separately and the only part you need to solder is the ATtiny.
(April 1)These attachments should not be used as there is an issue with R19 & R20 being switched in...
Attached is the BOM of my order though LCSC. I had to find a few replacements for some of the resistors. I also ordered the ATtiny directly from Microchip and I bought the voltage reference from AliExpress. I am still waiting on the voltage reference diode as I ordered it late and the current...
GeorgeBoudreau released a video today showing his DIYBMS module for the Nisanleaf batteries! In his video, he said he has a few minor changes to make and he will release the PCB publicly.
I just put one of the cell boards together and I forgot to order "D1" for the voltage reference. It may be a few more weeks until I get a system up and running.
I was able to program the board and everything appears to be running correctly. My toaster oven didn't kill the ATTiny. Here is a...
I actually just received the package from LCSC with the parts and another with the solder paste. I will be assembling a few boards and trying the system out on a smaller battery this weekend!
