18650 sanyo cells get's very hot

Thank you for your advice, and I'll take the opportunity, for all the work and datas your share here, among others.
I will probably use them as models for my own harvesting method, database and calculations.

You have also inspired a project I have in my mind, a DIY versatile double charging-discharging board with 2x20 slots, based on ZB206 and TP5100 with selectable charge current between 50mA and 2A / cell, for parrallel and/or individual charging

Yes it gets very hot charging under 1A .when I charged under 500-600mah they seemed to be not getting hot.
Don't throw them you can use them for low level applications like led lights.

Some Sanyo cells are heaters, and some are not.

Junk the hot ones, keep the rest.

when i put them in a smart charger, while discharging they get extremely hot so i cannot even touch them.

Then don't use them...this is why we test stuff.

That said, i've had great luck with the light blue insulator rings on the Sanyos... those act just like any other 18650 cell I own.
