I found some ventilator unit in the scrapheap.
24v units. but with wire is needed for powering them up?
Only red and black is 24V? and those other two? 12V
Or is red and black for 12V?
on which colors i must do 24V?

Really when i hook up a 24V psu it feels like that 24V is a bit to much

JUNIPER ATLAS-760-014968 5910PL-05W-B76 SRX5800

From a server cooling.

It was 38V to max 70V (with working pcb btw) but to put it directly to my powerwall? nah. plus the controlling was with sensors and all other stuff.

So i ordered a 24V 30A psu, but witch wires are correct to connect for 24V?

With best regards Igor

Red/Black are your power wires, they get full 24VDC. You could change this voltage manually if you aren't using the other 2 wires.

Not sure which is which, but one wire will be the RPM feedback and the other is the signal wire to tell the onboard controller how fast to turn. This is usually a PWM signal.

When the Yellow/White wires are not connected, then the full 24VDC will be applied to the fan motor. When a PWM signal is present, then the speed will drop

You can figure out which one of the yellow & white wires is the PWM speed control by pulling either pin to ground, if it does nothing, then it would be the RPM counter pin, and if the fan slows down to about 10 - 20% power, then that's the PWM pin. Now normally, the yellow wire would be the RPM counter pin, but that may not be the case here.

Ever started up a drone? thats why i was asking.

Oke the rpm with a pwm controller is very intresting.
Tonight, i will play a bit with it.

With ground you mean the casing? or connect to the black wire or connect to the psu?

I really need fresh air sometimes in the shed if i am cutting wood or casting metal.
A speed control would be a luxury. the pcb i still have, but i dont think i can use it.

Thanks

Ground in this case is the Negative power wire. The casing of the fan is probably not "grounded" as parts of it are plastic or fiberglass

I powered up ALL the fans.... ever flown a drone before?......yikes.
It will be very good for my applications, very good, and indeed i will need for some applications a PWM, yes much needed.
I will build a wooden frame around it, so I can shift it from one application to a other....
Love the wind/suction, perfect i would like a second one.

Thanks.

you might have a drone after al
yes, when i face them towards a wall and the bench, i have to push pretty hard, a decent angle must be done before the will tilt over.

Usually I do this: potentiometer + red & black and cutting the other useless wires. They will not be used for small home projects anyway, unless you go with automation boards.

@Overmind, my knowledge on small elektra is not so extended as yours.
But wouldn't i need a very powerful pot meter, i mean it is 24V 12A
I think i understand how to connect the pot meter.
I don't have a schematic to guide me, sorry.

With kind regards Igor

O yes btw i had it working a bid for me....it was windy in the shed:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
And a lot of noise.
A pot meter or a rpm controller is really not a bad idea.

Thanks in advance, best regards Igor
