Yes, so considering Off Grid Garage Andy's latest video yesterday about the new Muller BMS setup, I would like to ask something along the same lines.

I have an active balancer for a 4S 200 amp Hr. LiFePO4 battery pack, said balancer has the facility for an activation switch (as shown in the video), so as I don't want to buy a new BMS, can anyone advise how I could used either my Bluesmart 75/15 MPPT regulator or the (networked) BMV712, to control the balancer?

I would like it to switch on when the battery is fully charged as shown, and I would be interested to know what happens when it is actually balanced?

Any suggestion welcomed.

Update! another system, and it works (sort of).

PVC frame adjustable to 45 degrees (most of the day) and 86 degrees (late afternoon).

The BMS I used on my 26650 LiFePO4 battery pack is supposed to have a "balance" function, i have no specs for it so don't know if it's charge balance, passive balance or whatever, but going by the size of the cables I figure it's probably useless anyways.

Sooo, I bought another flying capacitor active balancer for it, which was fine but I still had no idea what was going on because the orange LED on those things says on as long as it is plugged in, and I only wanted to balance after a full charge.

The solution was to solder piggyback cables to the back of the balancer pins for my little ISDT device (meter only). all works a treat best result is 4 Millivolts. I just plug it in as needed.

Tested the whole rig on my 60 litre brass monkey portable fridge and it all works great.
I think because I have the separate charge port and the power port combined as advised by you guys) it seems to make the incoming current dart around all over the shop, so I ordered a common port and I am going to try that.

The long and the short of it is it got the fridge part down to 6 degrees and the free section down to minus 8 in about 15 minutes with the panel in full sun in an ambient temp of 28 degrees C. The battery appeared to be holding steady all the time. I have just remade the brace/battery tray.

So still waiting on advice for using the BMV=712 to control the balancer???
