And please go for a bms and not a balance only.

Hello Igor,
as you could read into the text we are talking about the jkbms series - which combines BMS and active balancer in one device.

No need to disassemble something and balancing / calculating manually

btw: I took a screencapture totday so you can see the balancer working

Hi Stefan,

I used your instructions to get my BMS up and running with the Bluetooth app...

Have you had any success communicating with the RS485 module??

I emailed Jk-BMS a couple times to try to obtain the RS485 module protocol but have not heard back from them..

Cheers Brad

at this time I did not try the RS485, but I will, in future when I have more time for this (have to set up a linux server too)
But I have some protocol documents and lots of other information about the JKBMS I collected here: https://mona-stefan.de/li-ion-akkus-18650/akkus/15-ladegerate-&amp-kapazitatstester

you may need GTranslate because it's in German, but the protocol files you'll find when you scroll down to the end of this page.

Please let us know if you have some success with the RS485 :)

Had to do a little searching but I think i found the Docs "Polar Air Active Balance Protection Board" is what I'm looking for????
It shows how the frame data structure is sent and received....
sorry about your tractor in the water hole!!!!

Thank for the information I will give it a try... Not that good with code yet but will learn as I go...

Thanks again

did any of you figure out what type of connector is used for the CAN/RS485 bus connections ? I want to order it seperatly so I can test it, but I have no clue what I should order

now I am using a couple of this BMS balancers for some month

View attachment 3382

  • JK-BD6A24S-10P (old edged version) -> 0,6A balancing current / max. 24S / 100A continous power -> sold after a month because the 0,6A was too low for my setup
  • JK-B2A24S-15P (old edged version) -> 2A balancing current / max. 24S / 150A continous power
  • JK-B2A24S-15P (new version, with QR-code on top)
  • JK-BD6A20S-10P (brand new version) -> 0,6A balancing current / max. 20S / 100A continous power

unfortunately I have to say, that two of the small BMS JK-BD6A20S-10P are dead after a few weeks of usage in my 16s powerwall at the garage

both seem to have "lost" some batteries. The first BMS lost batteries no. 01, 02 and 09

I first checked the cable connections. I checked it twice and three or four times but could not find any problem.
So I replaced the whole cables but the problem staied.

At the end I replaced the bms with the same, new type of BMS

but after few weeks it losts some batteries too, this time no. 01 and 16

Again I checked all cables but could not find any problem so defnitely a failure of the BMS.

Maybe a bad charge of production. In total I am using seven of this exact identical BMS and the others run just fine, some of them non-stop since one year.

I contacted the seller on Aliexpress, D.YU.K.B and Dykbhuang Store and he agreed to refund the two defective BMS after sending it back and so I did so

But because he did not confirmed the arrival of the package in time, the dispute was closed autimatically and there is no refund.
I wrote several times via contact form and the seller agreed one more time to refund the defective devices but now, six weeks later there are still just some delaying tactics and no refund.

I guess it's my fault because I thought the chinese seller has some honor and will hold his word, but it seems this is not true.

So all I can do now is warn you about this seller.
I guess next time I need a smart BMS or active balancer I will order at ICGOGOGO again. It's three or four bucks more expensive, but service is definitely better.

p.s.:
my powerwall at the garage is now up and running since two month with the third BMS and works very well to charge my EV
