Are there any CEC approved installers lurking here who would be willing to answer a question or two?

I really want to legally connect a victron multiplus to the grid with a Nissan Leaf battery..

While I haven't accomplished this myself... I have thought about it.

Everything aside the battery is really just standard equipment. Aside from following NEC and other electrical codes for install the only thing custom would be the battery. If that itself won't pass inspection, then I would just install whatever would pass inspection and 'upgrade" it later.

Have you tried talking to an electrician and getting the AC side of the project quoted for install?

Mine is off-grid but still, I had to do a city permit, hire an electrician, and have it inspected. Thecity inspector checked wiring, component UL listings, and solar panel-shut-off and things like that.Didn't seem tocare one bit about the actual battery (e.g. DIY 18650 as you see in my picture) and he was standing right next to it (6 inches away) as he inspected the wiring from the battery to inverter to the subpanel.

I know this is just one local example.

In Australia, the government has much more control over what connects to the grid. I'm really struggling to find someone who will install a Victron inverter (Multiplus II) because making it compliant seems complicated if not impossible with anything other than an approved battery. I'm not 100% sure, but from what I can tell even the batteries need to be CEC approved for connection, meaning any CEC approved installer won't touch the install of the multi plus II because it cant comply with anything other than a shortlist of paired batteries.

I already have on my main house a 3 phase Enphase micro inverter system - Its 33 panels split to 11 on each of my three phases. So 2750w per phase.

The Victron I had planned on installing in a shed (on one phase) and linking to my batteries.

Yeah ive got em. I was thinking of putting batts on the roof to go through the inverters. Kind of already setup.

Did you get any further on this? I was trying to do the same. The Multiplus instructions for the new AS protocols look confusing. Passwords and Ohms on aux so on. Cheers.

Im waiting on my sparky to do switchboard rewire. Happening soon. What new instructions? Can you link to them?

Batteries on the roof? Wouldn't they get cooked? Don't want them over 40degC?
How've you got it set up?
