I’m looking for the short circuit current capability of a gen 1 Nissan Leaf module.. it’s not on the MSDS and I can’t seem to find it via various google searches. I did find it’s rated max current of 130a, but need to know it’s short circuit current delivering capacity.

Doesn't look like they have a fusible link built in there, this video shows a guy opening one, no fuse links apparent.
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibCLe_w-4no
see approx 6:00 minute mark
Resistance of the pouch cell tabs & "inside cell" links would be a part + the (limited) cell surface area in that size "2 cells to a casing" build.
Thickness of copper buss bars in there = part of Rinternal

It'll likely be a large number, maybe 1,300 ish amps (ie 10x the 130A rated current) each side for a fully charged healthy cell?

Wolf's data on DC IR might help us towards calculating it?
Eg Isc = Vcell/Cell IR,
so approximate by DC IR of good 3Ahr 18650 x 3AHrs/130AHrs = Cell IR,
Vcell = terminal voltage under extreme load (we don't know this...)

Did we have a shorting accident "test event" by any chance?? ;-)

Hehe no, I want to calculate the short circuit current capacity of my bank for labeling purposes. I have 21P so at 1000a a module x 21 I’m looking at 21ka. I may as well just write the infinity symbol.

Yeah pretty much.
Main thing is to make sure any fuses/breakers are rated to interrupt with high DC amps, could easily get 40kA from the bank. That would be "exciting" for sure....

I have a Merlin Gerin NS250 - which can break 50ka, and I have HRC fuses - so fingers crossed, I should be Ok.
