APC smx1500rm2unc troubleshooting

Hi all, I have come across one of these units and am considering using it to run a small off-grid node. The unit has suffered an "Inverter fault".

Does anyone know what this actually means, other than a fault with the inverter section?

If it's possible to repair this thing I'd be very pleased, but if not, no big deal as the price was right.

What I REALLY need is a repair manual for these but I doubt they exist.

Best thing to do is open it up and see what component(s) are burnt. Usually the damaged parts are the output FETs and possibly even a few caps. You could try replacing those (if they are damaged) and see if the error goes away.
But first step, crack it open and inspect damage

Already pulled it apart. The PC boards are pristine

Unless I find a service manual, I think I'll just remove each FET and test them, and then do the same with the bigger caps, and if it isn't any of these, then it might be a lost cause.

My boss gave this thing to me so it's potentially a big win
