I could use some help with my Batrium.

Last night it was nearing the discharge limit of my inverter and I was watching to see how the inverter transitioned.
To my surprise the Batrium must have set a critical fault, because it opened the shunt trip breaker.

Is there a fault log to see why the Batrium opened the breaker?

My cell voltages and temperatures were good enough.
I don't have the Ah entered accurately, so the SOC at the time was -1.5%
This was likely the cause, but I would like to know if there is a fault log.

On the Tools menu, they advise you do a "Snapshot Report" while the critical event is present - and then you can read thru the data dump and see what value is causing it. Note that you can also get it to do this automatically every 5 mins. This may work for you - hasn't worked so well for me as I can never find what is causing my fault :)

Well, would you look at at that! My critical event was on and I have a log.
I don't see the issue, do you?

Yea - that's my trouble as well :) I think the idea is you should know what your settings are 'supposed to be' (such as low temp or max voltage / cell or x or y or z) and then look in the log to find the value that exceeds your settings - and then you'll know.

For example I see this near the top of your log "CellVolt 3.07v @ 6 3.43v @ 12 3.29v 302" - indicating a cell at 3.07v. Maybe 3.07v is below the minimum threshold you set? Or this one - "Shunt -1.5% 36ºC 46.02v -0.174A" - e.g. Shunt is at 1.5% SoC. Maybe that's too low for your settings?

If you have a constant critical event - you can also look thru your screens and look for items with 'yellow' over the label - to maybe see something more easily.

Now I understand what you were saying. So far it is a one time event.

On the cell mon page the min cell voltage (CV2) is set to 2.9 volts.
On the critical page the lo cell volt (CV1) is set to 2.7 volts.

I cant find anywhere that has a min SOC.

Lo Shunt Volt (QV1) and Low Supply Volt (BS1) are set to 37.8v, I was well above that.

Is there anything yellow on Menu -> Control Logic -> Critical page (or any other pages under control logic)

For example, your log shows "Shunt -1.5% 36ºC 46.02v -0.174A" - e.g. shunt at 46.02v. Notice that the Critical page (below) has "Lo Shunt Volt" option. Mine is turned off, but if it was on, it would be critical if my "Lo Shunt Volt" was below 46.0v.

To confirm, you're saying you have a continuous critical alert going on? If so, maybe check the other pages under "Control Logic" besides just "Critical" - e.g. "Charging", "Discharging", "Thermal'", etc.....

From your pic above - this doesn't look good... e.g. "-40C"? I see that "Lo Ambient" is turned off and shouldn't generate a critical event so maybe its just showing junk "-40".

Next question - what mechanism is tripping your shunt? I use "Critical Pulse On" with my WM4 + Expansion.
1616685009326.png

To recap - if you having a continuous critical alert but can't find it, I'd dump the log and email Batrium support. In the past, they've helped me with 'basic' questions like this... maybe they still do.

I'd be interested in what you find out and hope you'll post :)

This is not a constant issue. It happened one time on the first night I tried to leave the battery connected overnight.
One time only.

I have a WM5 plus expansion.
I will have to double-check the settings.
But, I have it set to "critical pulse off"
When I had it set to "critical pulse on" the pulse happened when the critical fault when away.

I have never seen an ambient temp reading displayed. I just assumed the WM5 and MM8 didn't have onboard ambient temp sensors.

The Batrium just tripped remote tripped the breaker again. It didn't even get a snap shot this time.
