Batrium pre-charge??

Hello All,

At the moment running a 72Kwh 56.25nomV 1280Ah ESS with a REC BMS, see my introduction earlier this weekend

REC uses a pre-charge unit, in my case operated at 12V, with a 4 seconds delay pre-charge of the capacitors in the Sunny Islandinverter.
In this set-up I use 400A Gigavac contactors (@48V-ish)

I wonder if I could stick with my current layout, using the Gigavac's + REC pre-charge unit, on a Batrium bms,
if I was to change to Batrium.
To do this I would need a NO contact, managed by the Batrium.
And I think this is the case.

But could someone confirm this??

See little youtube film with a demonstration set-up.

Thanks

regards

We add functionality to the WatchMon supervisor on requestand were asked to add a precharge output function to the hardware expansion configuration.
Whilst this will only betimerbased itwillenergizea appropriately sized prechargerelay and resistor prior to the main contactor (configurable 1-5 seconds).

Whilst not in the current release should be in the next build.

@Batrium,

Good to hear, and thanks for the reply.

But what I was after.
I need an output relay, hopefully on the extension-board,
that will close after system check, and will open when any of the parameters for safety will go over the set threshold.

If this feature is already available, I can use the little REC pre-charge unit, see youtube video.
and I do not have to change a thing to my system lay-out.

Thanks in advance,
regards

Hello,
Just an update with my build, showing the set-up with Gigavac 350Amp contactor, using pre-charge unit,
see picture attached.
I use 2 contactors, showing is the positive lead, the second is on the negative lead.

note: ESS is nomV 56.25 V,
I have a Meanwell dc-dc converter to 12V, that is feeding auxillaries like the contactors, pre-charge unit, fans, etc

Contactors + pre-charge unit is operated by the REC bms, looking to find the same feature in the Batrium bms
