Batrium toolkit issues

I am hoping someone here can help me out with this. Last year, I upgraded the firmware. Ever since, I am getting random wizard setup and bypass test issues. On occasion, the wizard setup and bypass test go amber asking me to run them. I have run the wizard setup many times ( and losing my settings in the process). Same for the bypass test. These go green to only return amber the next time I open the toolkit.
On occasion, the bypass will randomly go green on its own why using the toolkit (same for the wizard, but more rare). This never bothered me before, but it seems like I am now getting critical events which is cutting out my charge relay due to not running the bypass test and not running the wizard. Is there some upgrade that has fixed this?

Thanks

I have a watchmon 4 w/expansion + longmons and its working fine. Here's my current version info

Can you go back to a previous version? is Batrium responding?

The only time I've had the kind symptoms you describe is when I had improper twisted wire for my longmon network - was there any change in your mon network?

Hello, It looks like you have an older firmware version. I might have to go back (is that possible?). I'm on the 2.17.15.0 (latest stable). Nothing has changed in the system. It has been running for almost 2 years. Using shielded, stranded twisted pair wire. Everything else runs fine. Its just this weird thing with the status of the wizard and bypass statuses.

I did email Batrium, waiting on response. I wanted to see if I can get some input from others that might have experienced the same issue. Seems like a software issue but who knows. Mainly happens with I connect using wifi. when I connect usb, it doesn't seem to happen (I haven't checked in a while though)

Because I opened the Tools -> Software Check, I'm now stuck with this - the Software [ ] checkbox won't go away!

Very annoying, I just complained to Batrium as my systems are working 100% and I don't WANT an upgrade - especially after this thread. We'll see what they say.

I have a 2nd Batrium in my trailer, a bit newer 'core' instead of watchmon 4 (I think). I went ahead and did both the toolkit and firmware updates

and it seems to be operating OK - I'll monitor....

Yeah, I have run the wizard over 5 times and it just comes back to unchecked. I lose my settings every time I do it. I guess I have to figure out how to backup and restore my settings.

using wifi, closed and reopened the toolkit, bypass is now unchecked.

Okay, I figured out how to import my settings. I ran the wizard (won't let me choose custom like the old firmware). everything green.

Closed and reopened toolkit and back to amber

I deleted then reinstalled my toolkit on the Batrium I didn't want to upgrade and the Soltware [ ] item went away.
Maybe it saves some settings and if you delete/re-install it will go back to original condition?

And, as a longshot, maybe you need to set more things on the CellMon and Shunt pages as the Software setup thinks things are fully set? Here are my pages for reference if it helps.

I'm with you if it ain't broke don't fix it. Besides I would have to recode some of the node-red flows for influx and grafana
I do notice that with the Watchman USB plugged in laptop I get the SW update [ ] but over the Wi-Fi I don't. Peculiar.

You have to run the toolkit -> USB to do updates, it asks you for the COMx. That's probably why you don't see it as available on Wi-Fi

Well is still odd as when I first launch the toolkit even with a Wi-fi connection it will show the Setup Check list. But it will go away after about 30 seconds. Just an observation. But you are correct as far doing an actual firmware update it needs the USB->Comx for a proper update.
I have made adjustments to parameters over Wi-Fi from a remote VPN laptop as long as the USB is plugged into a machine on site though. Just asks for the supervisor password and bobs your uncle.

Thanks OffGridInTheCity, Looking at your configuration got me thinking. On the old firmware, the wizard setup would show Custom on the battery type. With the upgrade, I wasn't able to choose Custom. I think the problem lies with the toolkit not liking the wizard set to a preset battery type and then having custom settings in the hardware setup pages. I went to the hardware setup page and chose custom there and the wizard went green. Hopefully it stays this way.

To close this out for me - Batrium support ignored my simple question (with screen shots) and responded with a generic spam email - that did the usual chastisement for not attaching a dump of the system, saying it's too complex for us to discuss, and ended with suggesting a zoom call (which I assume leads to paying for support).

My sense is there was no human interaction since I did a follow up email (which was included in their response) that I had found a workaround by re-installing the toolkit.

Disappointing to see they continue to ignore their users.
