Batteries

G'day. I am after any rechargeable battery or battery pack to begin a new project. Ideally these will be free but let's face it, nothing is free. I am in the southwestern sydney area and am willing to travel for a reasonable amount if loot. Let me know what you have and we can strike a deal

How many do you need? The generally accepted "poor man's" method is to find some recycling center or anyplace else that has a bunch of old laptop batteries and rip the old 18650's out of those. It's the cheapest solution, but you're also left with a spectrum of unknown quality and lifecycle batteries that you have to sort and then hope for the best.

Personally I prefer to just buy name brand Samsung and Panasonic 18650 cells when it's for a project that is worth doing right, but that's just me. I also come from the ebike world though, and when you are building a battery to sit between your knees, quality suddenly becomes a lot more important :lol:

I can't really be clear on how many i want/need. I am starting from scratch and the poor mans method is what i will be doing. I am in the process of tracking down laptop etc batteries. I would love to splash out on new name brand batteries but i just don't have the means.
