Hi
I’m looking at starting mine. Brisbane too.
What’s the latest on this?
Have you got it running?

I have a Tesla 3 battery with an integrated slave. I don't have a master BMS, so my question is whether I can use the original slave via LilyGo. I want to create a high-voltage storage system.
Ahh I see, I have the complete Tesla High voltage Batteries & we use a Lilgo emulator to communicate with the Tesla battery & Solax.

Hi

I finally took delivery of my Tesla battery ex Len at Advanced Parts in Auckland.

The delivery truck turned up, the driver took one look at my driveway and told me to follow him with my car and trailer. We went down to the local joinery shop and he borrowed their forklift to load the battery out of the truck and onto my trailer. That solved his problem but now I needed to lift the thing off my trailer and put it in my garage.

Well a tandem lift with an engine hoist, a chainblock and some heart in mouth and we've got it on blocks on the garage floor.

I've got a sparkie from Wellington jacked up to come down and help me with my temporary connection to get everything up and running. I've struck some resistance from local guys who simply put the whole thing into the 'too risky - too hard' basket and aren't keen to help/learn.

So next steps are:

1) Get the temporary connection up and running in the garage.
2) Build the housing for the permanent setup.
3) Install the battery in the permanent location.
4) Wire it all up again per (1).
5) Get it inspected and ticked off.

I'll post my shopping list for the installation shortly.

Cheers

Righto - I've now got the laptop talking to the emulator and the emulator talking to the battery.

3 mV Delta right off the bat, so that's not too bad at all! Only 35% charged, so it'll be good to get it hooked up to the inverter.

What I'm struggling with is the HVIL jumpers. There seems to be talk on the web about these all needing to be 60 ohm resistors. Others seem to be simply pieces of wire. Can anyone give me a definitive answer? I have a 2021 Model 3 LFP RWD 50 kWh battery.

Cheers

Yep - pretty pleased with that low Delta V. If I can get the HVIL jumper issue sorted I should be able to get the contactors closed at the weekend.
