I have three of them ordered to arrive different times. I suspect they all our scams but it sure is taking eBay a long time to determine. The seller is still advertising them. I guess I will wait a few more weeks and then if I do not get it I will open a complaint with eBay and PayPal. They are usually good about this. I really wished they were real. I really need to build that Giant Opus Test station.

And so it begins, what are these guys hoping to gain.......

It really is a freaking waste of time, but you believe in the crap because 13.75 is probably 90% profit for the OPUS folks.

Haha i ordered from the exact same buyer.. guess I'll open a case too. Mine was set to arrive next week apparently but highly doubt it now.. will let ya know.

Don't see why they do it.. PayPal reverses the transactions

PayPal can only reverse the transaction if the accounts are still available linked. If the accounts were transferred to a temp account and closed, then PP can't get the money back.

You know, when I setup my PayPal account they had to go through a verification process with my bank. I am not sure who is going to bite the big one on this, but its not going to be me.... and if it's right.... these chinese are just performing a small dollar scam on eBa, then maybe eBay needs to step up it's game and not allow chinese merchant.

Well, that's partially what the seller fees are to help cover. When a person sells on eBay, and an item is transacted, a portion of that is sent to eBay. That's part of their insurance charges. I wouldn't go so far as blocking chinese merchants. There are a lot of valid good ones. A few bad apples you just have to remove to get a good barrel, that's all. And that's why eBay/PayPal will reimburse if there is a fraudulent transaction.
I'm sure eBay/PP will keep an eye out for each of these type of users. Each time they show up, they are making themselves a little more trackable.

I agree, I was a little hasty with my drum beat to banish Chinese vendors from eBay. I must tell you though, my expectations have greatly diminished in purchases from China. In the past, the reason was I could get a quality product at a fraction of the price and the only downside was waiting for the product. A recent solder iron purchase has changed my mind, now not only are you buying a cheaper product, but it is typically very low quality. These days you really have to do your homework or rely on the experiences of other like we do on this forum.

I just returned a soldering iron order to Amazon, who ever heard of xtronics, damn thing was so cheaply made. Now I will take Mike's advice and get that Weller and the tip.... perhaps I will get the same results. It is so awesome to watch some of you guys put your experience on youtube..... Dan.... Pete.... Paul..... Mike....

Yeah I have had some wins from the cheap Chinese eBay scams tho.. such as ordering an item and the seller was caught out for doing some dodgy selling elsewhere and they were banned by eBay and all their other listings were taken down. eBay asked if I had received my item and I had said no.. so after 4 days they refunded my purchase.. sure enough tho 3 weeks later the item showed up in my mailbox.

I wish, I ordered 3 of them... I really need them since this process is going to take years. I am just finishing up on the cells for my first 120cell pack and right now I only have 2 OPUS and 1 IMAX. I have 3 legit purchases for which I paid 33+ coming in rickshaw from China.... But I doubt these will ever get here. I was hoping to get to 10 chargers so I could build Dan's OPUS charging station. Doing a REFRESH on 40 cells a day will likely net me 10 keepers a day. At that rate I would have enough for a pack every 12 days which would be good. I am in no hurry, I am waiting on approvals for my PV system from Tesla and doing research into AC Coupling with a MagnaSine. This forum has become my new FB, I try to read everything and learn.

Thanks
-Bob

Yes, unfortunately your going to be waiting a long time. I would go ahead and put claims in now. The claim process takes about a month.

As soon as the shipment date is over you add the claim. the claim take 3-7 days in general. Atleast thats what i have had.

They are at it again... came across them this morning :(
