Hi Guys
I'm trying to test cell votages of my Tesla Y RWD battery whilst it's in the car.
I've been following Dala's project using the hardware and brief advice documented here
github.com
with a Lilygo 2CAN board
github.com
and the youtube by the "battery man" here
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zikb94dxlTM&t=122s
However, I can't get any comms with the battery/BMS so wondering if anyone else has come across this issue?
Things i've tried are:
I've powered up the car (and the HV contactors open) when I replaced the original X098 connector with mine wired to a 12v battery and CAN H&L to Lilygo board (see pics)
Swapping the CAN H&L wires from the X098 connector around and onto the second CAN channel of the Lilygo board
Adding 120 ohm resistor across the CAN high and low at the Lilygo board end
I've powered down the car off and repeated the above steps
The only thing i've not tried is disconnecting the original 16v battery and hooking up a 12V to the PCS (two M8 screws close to the X098)
Any help or advice would be much appreciated before I pull the battery out of the car and follow the full procedure as i'd like to check the cell voltages are good and prove the Comms between the Liulygo and battery work at this basic level if that makes sense !
