DIY Battery Pack Case

What is the best material for a battery pack housing case? I want to design one with cooling fins on two sides of the box for good ventilation. Is this a good idea?

Many use heavy plastic cases/ pelican cases I have just bought a copy of a pelican case https://www.harborfreight.com/4800-weatherproof-protective-case-x-large-orange-56866.html , Tool boxes are another option. The two fan idea is a good idea, one fan to suck air in and another to blow air out.
