Hello,

I am in process of doing a 24V build, status summarized below:
https://secondlifestorage.com/showthread.php?tid=9429

For the BMS and charge controller, I was looking at ElectroDacus (looks like they will be available next month)
http://www.electrodacus.com/

Are there any downsides to this unit? Looking at historic pricing and capability it looks like a great system but I don't see any builds on the boards using this. Is it just a lack of availability? I don't see much chatter about this unit which surprises me.

I saw the thread from a few years ago where he points out the downsides of using 18650's, but it looks like it is still compatible.

Thanks!

I have one, and am just getting ready to use it for a 12V 18650 build I am doing to run a fan in my solar shed. I think I am going to pass on using the Electrodacus. There is no manual for the new version, yes the manual for the old version is similar, but not the same. The unit I got came with NOTHING. The cell sense leads are color coded on the manual for the old version, guess what. NO connector and not even an explanation of what connector to get and which pin is which.
I don't really feel like going through all the hassle to figure this all out, for me, easier to just buy a really cheap BMS that comes with everything I need.
just my $0.02

I went through and pick one up. There is a new user guide for it, but it is still for tinkerer's. I really like the idea of have solar thermal diversion as an option.

Good luck!
