Hi,

I have a question to the ones here using the chinese blue Battery Grid Tie Inverter with limiter.

In my usecase I Need to Limit the Output with my raspberry.

The clamp sensor will not work.
The "internal" limiter port is listenig to an AC Signal from an clamp sensor (I think 0-5V AC)

The external limiter becomes it'sSignal from the external limiter box, I didn't have one to check what Comes out of it.
If I do 0 to2,49V DC on the external limiter, the Inverter stays off.
After increasing the voltage above 2,5V it starts and goes up to the "Battery Amp" Limit from the menu.
But I can't do a "smooth" limiting.

Attached find some pics.

Thanks in advance

Bernhard

You don't understand.

I can't use a clamp sensor, and the sensor works fine.
We have a three phase system, and a complete power metering system.
How much power the GTIL has to produce I already know, but I can't tell him.

But I found a cool connector inside.

RS232 and WIFI, does anyone know the pinout :)

I have some info about those too :D

The RS232 in current firmware cannot control the output im afraid. I have asked them to implement that :p T

You can use the device that you set with external pot though or as you was looking at with emulating the clamp-sensor. I dont own a unit myself since im waiting for the RS232 function to be implemented. So cant say for sure what the clamp gives out to the box or what is needed.

Feel free to chase them. They have a group on Facebook. I have asked several times already about a function to control them so they are most likely getting bored of me :)

I think that wouldn't work.

Because the GTIL always wants to have the clamp signal zero. So if I increase the value of the sinewave it will try to zero it .... hmmmm more complex than thought.

A better way will be to find a "pot" port or something on the controller board of the GTIL ....

@wim , what information do you have?

Best way would be serial.

I have one of these too, and want to control it via Arduino. I don't have the external limiter unit either, but would like to know the nature of the signal it sends back to the main unit so I can replicate it.
From you description of the off below/on above 2.5V, I am wondering if maybe it is a simple PWM signal.

I have been looking into this as well and have had some success with just emulating the voltage that would be supplied by the CT clamp to the internal limiter connection using an arduino mini.
The eventual idea is to be able to compensate for the long wire I have had to use to connect the ct clamp by having the ct connected to the mini and to be able to effectively turn off the inverter by sending a false voltage which appears to the inverter as already at minus usage.

Longer term i would like to use an esp8266 (I have no experience with them) to control it from my emonpi vi mqtt

Cool guys. Perhaps i should get one soon then to play with too. Though if anyone talks to them check with them when they implement it via the RS232. They told me last time they would ad that to the list.

You can use my description how to solder one... There exists different solutions and in my blog i gave a complete software bundle and description how to make and how to connect. Its for EPever with RJ45 but easy to adopt i think for GTIL... i did order with serial support and have the documents...

Here are some screenshots about modbus protocol and the serial possibility.

After i clear copyrights i will give it for download.

I ordered the same GTIL (45-90V/1000W) and want to control the output power with a 0..5V or 0..10V signal to construct a home storage solution. Delivery of the GTIL is next week and for that reason all this writing is theoretically. I'll do practical tests in October. Maybe the input is a 0..20mA or 4-20mA input. You described that over 2.5V there is full output power. If there is a kind of optocoupler inside it could be that the forward voltage is around 2.5V with current limiting series resistor and then forward current is 20mA. Do you try out a input current like 0..20mA?

See if you have an older version and not extra did order it that they connect for free the RS845 than you have to send it there where is the service. I will do when my Unit arive make detailed photos for my blog. I did buy only under the condition the unit have the RS845. Was clear i will not use the chinese cloud and will look for a local monitoring.... My unit is not here and i am a beginner in electronics and elctro installation so from this side will come a lots of stupid questions i think.

This you need and later my photos will show where and how to connect.

So looks the Unit inside and for a review and make a good documentation i need the Electronics experts that will do a description of the different units... I think about to do it similar like things are described in OpenWRT Wiki... I did open for this extra at sourceforge a project... what is more easy to handle for beginners than github and there is space for complete images... Not all have to run the Mainstream of git.

for this i fight for documentation with CC-BY-SA

I did not order the Wifi Unit. Because my plan is to make one for myself. With ESP8266

The Units they use you find here: RF Kid this means German FHEM users know more and how.... Big forum there...

http://solar.eybond.com/out_en/down.html

I did check their serverplatform the frontend and scripts they use... strigtly Opensource and most time the programmers are from Great Britain. And if you look arround Eybond their it partner you will find out the direction it will go or get some inspiration... Strictly direction IOT and i did check where the mainserver is locate by google earth and its arround 200 away from technical university... so big parts of the programming will be done by students...

Its my glasbowl to see that this units and company have good future and can react very flexible... nearly to anything what is good for customers and companies arround.

Do you know their demo platform...?

http://solar.eybond.com/index_en.html

The modbus possibilities are huge in description and protokoll so it will not so like now you see in demo. Depence they can fullfill every customers wish.

Did Scan their trafic they have on this server via VPNgate Softether and Nagios directly with chinese identity. And there is not much users there but also all data to send and store is a chepa thing done with 9600 Baud just...

All in all the inversters sound promissing in construction.... so i thought i will try this system what was unknown to me before. I think with series 2 they put a good base.

Cool. If you have no Problem with opening your unit, you can unscrew the 4 screws on the bottom, the ones on the sides can stay in place, then you can remove the blue cover easily. disconnect the Display an you are inside.

Then I need a photo from the "RS485" DB9 connector to the Pins on the board.

RS485/modbus to (for example) raspberry can be done , Daniel I think is good there, and I also did some of that stuff in the past :)

Stay tuned... Are you Willi from Viena?

Hopefully i will pass there with my Boat next year... And if all runs well not with Diesel than with solar engine... So we can meet for talks and you can go some days with us...
https://www.tnt.com/express/de_de/s...rce=public_menu&cons=832385890&searchType=CON

Daniel got the Modbus papers but until we did not clear the copyright we should not claim for Opensource and do any violations of copyright. I will try to get CC-BY-SA. I invite you to join the sourceforge project i recently did open...

https://sourceforge.net/projects/openplotter-subprojects/ I will later explain in an own thread the idea about. In general its a project for boats and vessels software what can be include into the Openplotter distribution but find no space inside... it seems maintainer focus to other things than solar on a boat. See every sKill is wellcome, translators, programmers, testers and so on. Subproject can be for example Alexa integration what in general have nothing to do with boat or solar. But if alexa warns jou that the inverter is down such can be usefull.... Just some ideas... as more crazy than better... And as far i see if its true and the server for their cloud is realy close or part of electronic university the chance is not so bad that studends from there will join to have their fun....

Edit did found yours location ..
Close to Tulln and 5 km away from the Danube river close to Vienaand so it will match...

Ok, no Problem. I live near the danube, yes I am interested in looking on your battery boat :).

I removed the Pictures from the GTIL Groups in Facebook.
Because I don't know what a CC-??? License is, and I don't want to pay millions of Dollars fee. :)

I will be very happy if you can provide me with the RS485 inside Connection cable wiring.

If not "official", you can send me by PN.

Greets to the boat.

Its very easy: Creative Commons is a Copyright declaration. Wikipedia use for example Creative Commons BY SA as License in Everything.

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creative_Commons

Creative Commons is the Type of Copyright. And slowly justice accept this Copyright. In General this means:
CC = Creative Comons
BY = If someone use the Picture in his Content... a Webpage , in Discussions and so on have to give you the Credits... e.g. Set a link or email that is clear you are the owner...
SA = Can be used also commercial. ---- Thats an important factor because you can deny also the Commercial use. But this makes no sense. Because if one Banner of google apps or facebook or something else flips on yours webpage by justice its a commercial page....

For example in my blog all is Creative commons by sa. In general i make the pictures by myself if they are good or not... And i use an automatic watermark system that declares the ownership of this. if someone find it useful he can write me a comment and get the original one without the watermark... No problem...

Simple Copyright violation:

Willi from Viena did post in Facebook GTIL some pictures of the setup....

No he live as far as i see by decition of the chinese producer in Great Britain :)http://www.chinesegrid.com/en/info.aspx?Id=233

Such things are important... Its part of the chinese culture and religion to do so... but because its realy a part of their religion philosophyy we can use it to free content. In general if they give us the Modbus report under creative license CC By SA than they protect their copyright but we can official use it to write nice open source programs.

I did start now to make a free translation of their Manual to German Than i start to make the manager hungry to set content under creative commons license because they can pay some translator or make themself... same is with the firmware if their is a piece inside of gpl code and i am shure there is... The have than to open this... to us...

The only thing is we have to be straight inside. Just anounce that you did take away yours picture there because to set the Creative Commons license if such happens often in the Chinese producers will open their things more and more.... They have more Commercial success and can improve than better the things....

Open Source match in chinese philosophy and religion very good and if there is a commercial success it will mach better...

We just have to be straight.

Daniel have the modbus now and he can use online my future grit to inverter with raspberry.... plan is to implement some things in his distribution from the modbus what is nice to see for a marketing manager... they get if they give than and this very straight....

Before i start to use i will send it to someone that reviews i like much because of the special humor he is doing in his reviews. maybee he can also if there is an interest improve the unit...waranty what is this? :D I do not care...
