Hi everyone. New to site and first time poster.

I have just scavenged up approx 200 old laptop battery packs. I was wondering what colour 18650 cells get people excited when they are breaking them down. Or perhaps which brand of laptop. I seem to have a lot of toshiba ones.

I get excited by cells, that have a high capacity.
So Samsung 26, 28, 30 or certain Panasonics with more than 2200mAh

I dont sort after specific brands of laptop battery manufacturers, cause i dont have the luxury of doing so. I get my hands on what i can get and be happy with it, you barely get any used cells in germany.

I like pink, grey, blue, and some greens

I think about it more by specific colors I know are unlikely to be worth anything, Beyond that I just start to recognize each cell brand/spec and pretty much right away have a good idea of what I am looking at. I don't like dark reds because they are almost always Sanyo and usually are heaters although occasionally you will get good high capacity red sanyos'. dark green with black ring = bad or at least separate Sony cells that don't play well with others. I don't like pink(except the samsung ones,) tan, orange, in laptop packs because they are usually really high IR.
