Hey Y'all. My name is Wayne. I have been interested in batteries since I was a kid. Probably around the age of 10 when I got my first RC car, running from a 7.2v 1200mAH NiCd pack. Yes, I'm talking late 80s.. My dad being a mechanic with an aptitude for all things electrical, I fired many questions at him, many that he could not answer.
I soon discovered higher capacity 1800s and so on, then eventually NiMh and built a few of my own packs.
I did an Electronics AD which I never really used, but I've always kept a keen interest in auto electrics, electronics and batteries. These days I'm a TV Antenna, AV and Telecoms technician.
I stumbled across one of Pete's videos a couple of weeks ago and I've been glued ever since. Congrats Pete... one of about 7 channels I am subscribed to (5 of them are comedians, and the other is Jeri Ellsworth).
My roof is covered in panels and I was lucky enough to sneak in and get the 44c Govt rebate (plus retailer rebate), so have been getting paid between $200 and $800/qtr. I'm always looking to improve that, by way of reducing usage, or increasing what I send to the grid. I've got a few ideas. Creating my own power wall and independent solar farm on a shed I don't have, would be one of them
Pete. I am totally impressed by your enthusiasm, and straight talk Aussie approach. I hope to meet you one day.
