Hello everyone,

I have connected a GoodWe GW3600-BH with Nissan leaf battery 40kWh,
with a lilygo for can communication.

With the information from Yasko and Dala.

I now have the problem that the inverter remains in waiting mode.
Does anyone know what could be the cause of this?

for the update I just have to replace the USER_SETTINGS.h with the new one and uploade, that's how I did it.

Attached is the USB output.
and I also tested the leafspy, which I can also read.

the inverter still won't do anything, I think there might be a setting wrong in the inverter?

@Niscal, If I understand correctly, you are using the BYD CAN protocol for communication with the inverter.
I'm unfamiliar with this protocol because I'm using another protocol (default battery) with my setup.
Based on what I see from the inverter, there are probably some errors with CAN messages.
Do you have a MODBUS connection to the inverter? There are some registers to check regarding battery status.

still the same results.
I see in the inverter that the BMS requires 30A discharge and 0A charge, because the voltage is 393V.

I connected the battery via CAN,
how did you do it via MOD?
I can get rid of all other notifications except this one:
Self-consumption mode is off
Self-consumption mode is shut down. check whether charge and discharge times are set.
As far as I know no times have been set.
Can't find any settings menu with times or clocks?
In which settings menu can I find that? I looked through everything.
this also remains there Status: Waiting Mode
what is he waiting for?

That looks good! If you want to use more than 20-80% of the battery, you can change the MIN / MAX percentage:

If you want to try charging, change MAXPERCENTAGE to 990!

Modbus is not supported for this inverter, the MODBUS_BYD is for Fronius registers. So you have it connected correctly!

Waiting mode means some conditions are unmet, and the inverter can't go on-grid mode. To use the battery, the inverter must be appropriately connected and synchronized with the grid unless you use off-grid mode.
The MODBUS connection helps debug the inverter state. Some registers show battery status. Indeed, it is possible to send BMS data via MODBUS, but this is another story.

remains in waiting mode.

In this case, I recommend stepping back to self-define battery first. You probably checked one of my previous posts regarding this battery usage. Disconnect the CAN BMS communication, make the desired settings, and do a power restart of the inverter. Let's see what happens: the inverter must go online.
Do you have solar panels attached to the inverter? Even without a battery, it should generate solar power.
 
I have placed the battery in self-define, but I don't see any changes yet.

BH model - I've missed this...
Are you sure the inverter is connected correctly to the grid, especially the smart meter? As far as I remember, this meter has two current coils. Do you have an additional on-grid inverter with a PV array?
My friend uses the GW-6000BH model with a 50kWh battery (Opel Corsa-e), and the system works well. I will check the exact set-up.
You may try "Economic mode" and set discharge and charge times.

PS What is the status of the control LEDs of the invertor?
