BTW, have you every pushed your battery pack to the limit? That would be interesting to know.

By to the limitlike drawing 8000watts from full to flat - nop but have done 6-6500watts for an hour shed got quite warm. It has gone flat many many times like I'm talking cells that were zero volt - charge em back up and they are still going strong!
 
Finally got a 3D printer, provided from Banggood for review - anyone want to help me torture test it :)

what sort of mining hardware are you running?
have only just found your project, we are currently looking at solutions to run a 100 GPU mining farm, hint hint haha

lol not the kinda reply i was expecting....

I mean it works for two or three cards but that's5ish kwh per day - 100 cards is a billion cells to have a few days of backup power & to charge that need a solar farm - better investing in a hydro power lol

Not sure why ABS is popular, it's hard to stick without a heated bed and warps easily.

PLA is much easier, doesn't warp as much and doesn't need heated bed. The only bad thing is since it's a lower melting temp it tends to deform under heat. Try leaving something out in the sun and you'll see :)

Also try using a PEI sheet. Not the glossy one but the matte version. It works wonders. I don't bother heating up the bed anymore and only use glue sticks when I need it to stick. I print some large prints that takes days and if not adhered it will warp ever so slightly, so I hold it down well with glue. Otherwise with the PEI bed it sticks even without glue. You need some 3M adhesive double sided sheets to put it on. I would try this before the glass bed.

Ender 3 Has the heated bed so all good there - I just need to learn/understand it more :) Also got an upgraded glass bed today so that upgrade should help with the ABS printing ... stock bed works fine with some glue stick & PLA
 
Backside of a mirror, if you can find one the right size. ;)

I have some 220x220mm smooth glass I could sell ya if you need some ;)
 
awesome printer, reducing the speed in the first layer helped me alot.
You can also use a metal sheet with a very smooth surface that you can bend to remove the prints better.
Very good idea from theprusa printers.

That's a good idea. I've seen that too. Didn't realize it was a metal plate, tho.
In that case, I have some sheets of 220x220mm plates of aluminum/aliminium I could sell, too :p

Actually, I got them from the local printery. It's the plates they use for transferring the ink from drum to paper. They use them for only 1 print job.
I plan on using them to make a VAWT, so I have quite a few. And I can get loads more if I want as 1/2 my family works there :p

ABS is awesome. Some of the polycarbon mixes make durable parts. Try taking (a day before) some scrap shavings of ABS and drop them into an empty plastic Advil bottle with some Acetone, enough to just fill it. Seal the cap and shake into a slurry. At the start of heating -paint your printbed area where your part will appearand you'll have no issues with lifting.

The only thing that worked for me about layer splitting on big parts was to enclose the print area ceiling and side walls to encloseheat and deflect cooling gusts of air.

PLA is great too but use inSunlight and overall durability - I'll use ABS
Slurry will stick to heated blue tape or Kapton as well.

Kept busy this weekend cleaning up some cabling in the power shed, using the iCharger X6 to help balance my bank a little quicker - dam that little charger impresses me! If anyone has any ideas on cable runs let me know.. A quick vid of my thoughts how it should be done but i'm sure someone out there has some better idea's than me lol
