I've learned there is nothing wrong with a nice fully functional macbook.... :p

Yeah, to be used as a fly swatter, or a meat tenderizer hammer! :p

Do you have a Tesla Pete? :0
What do you think of it?

Or borrowed one, charging from a GPO?

My battery project has been on the go slow for a while to get a Zappi charger up and running to charge our Kona EV direct from solar.
Im just getting back to the battery now.

Jon, it was great one day i'll be in a position to buy but for now i'll just have to borrow Arrons lol
We just charged from the Dryer GPO for some reason the GPO in the battery shed was playing up at the time of filming.

Not too much happening around here powerwall wise just due to it working so well & been quite busy doing life stuff here is a current walkaround my grid and offgrid setup.

Your right - when solar is setup it just 'works' - particularly the panels (no moving parts) and even electrical equipment and (18650) battery bank are pretty good at just working!. You're also right that it can get downright boring - watching the sun move over the panels each day. Time for beer :)

Hotwater also installed...

What's the setup for that?

He has a few vids in his YT history on the process. Though, he doesn't have a completed setup posted yet.

For hot water it's just a solar diverter need to get the DC hws happening..

In the meantime, I've been playing with www.batteryhoookup.com's nickel strip trying to up the amp rating. So far it's been entertaining and a little educational - more testing needed

DC Hotwater videos i've done so far

And one released to Patrons a few months ago

Hey,

I have been watching you channel for a while and am in the middle of building my own 2P 7S (80P) bank and have taken a lot from they way you have and many others have done. This forum and your channel has been invaluable.
The one thing I have not found and am interested in is your shed, Did you build a dedicated shed for safety or for space and I would really like to know the materials and dimensions of your shed, I know this should be simple enough to work out and build, maybe you have ideas on how you would do it different or better.

Thanks again to everyone who contributes to this community, right now I'm just a leech and am not giving back, but hopefully one day I'll be in a position to provide feedback and assistance.

Thanks from South Africa.

Thank you Pete for sharing so much information about your powerwall! You have inspired me to build my own 10kwh wall to power my off grid tiny home!

Also thank you for sharing the files for the 80p cell mounts! I am able to get them made up locally and that will be a tremendous help with saving space. I sent you and mark each a thank you donation for you time and efforts. Look forward to seeing your future progression and being able to share my own within the community

Thanks for tuning in buddy, I don't think it's leaching if your learning. And you share your experiences later down the road for others to leach from :p

Thanks again!!

Hey Pete. A thing I want to ask you about your system. I've watched a lot of your vids (so maybe I've forgotten haha). If you've covered them already, please share a link, and I'll have a read, or a watch.

With regards to the Batrium BMS and Longmons - I think I have a handle on how they work, but what I don't understand is why you have to periodically disconnect the system and spend days balancing. Is this not what the Batrium system is supposed to do, or is it just the current capability of the Longmons isn't enough to keep up. Do packs only go majorly out of balance because of a faulty cell(s), mismatched cells, or are there other reasons?
