My issue is load - We use a lot of energy and even with 9wk of solar it still doesn't charge the batteries every day so batteries don't balance ALSO these cells were really poorly built so some have now got heaters and the batteries them selves are very imbalanced these days (currently working on fixing this) I also have my WM4 setup so it doesn't waste too much energy so have it starting to balance at 4.1v if I changed that to 4.0 volts balance would be much better all the time. End of the day my build quality was and still is in a BETA state lolWayne\ said:Hey Pete. A thing I want to ask you about your system. I've watched a lot of your vids (so maybe I've forgotten haha). If you've covered them already, please share a link, and I'll have a read, or a watch.
With regards to the Batrium BMS and Longmons - I think I have a handle on how they work, but what I don't understand is why you have to periodically disconnect the system and spend days balancing. Is this not what the Batrium system is supposed to do, or is it just the current capability of the Longmons isn't enough to keep up. Do packs only go majorly out of balance because of a faulty cell(s), mismatched cells, or are there other reasons?
is not the size of your storage it's the size of your load - 2x your max expected load and you'll have enough invertersdbyers248 said:this may have been touched in the thread, but with such a larger system 30Kwh,50Kwh how many inverters are needed or is there one main source? sorry if the answer is here already. totally new to this.
the download link of the CAD files for the mounting-system seems to be down, maybe because of the new forum software update?
Does anybody can provide the "normal" 80p version CAD files? I would like to ask around in my region if someone can do this kind of work
I tore strips of them for that, demanded payment - also destroyed his stupid idea of needing a high current balancer rather than fix the battery that needs that much balancing.. They didn't reply but did change the image.I spy a photo of Pete's battery wall (a portion of) in a recent Electronics magazine - Silicon Chip, March 2021 page 21.
The article is for a High-Current Battery Balancer build. Up to 4S cascadable.
