Have you considered tilting the panels by slightly raising one side of each panel? Raising just 1cm on a 1m wide panel creates a 1% slope - a typical amount for a drainage pipe. I imagine that'll reduce dirt accumulation significantly, except for the lips on the very edge of the panels.

Yes, we always have in Germany.

The default in Germany is According to the Flat Roof Directive, a flat roof should have a minimum slope of 2%. This corresponds to a roof pitch of 1.1 degrees. This will ensure proper drainage of the roof.
