This Forum has helped me tremendously in gaining knowledge about cells, cell testing and BMS’s. This site also steered me to the Facebook DIY Powerwall group. Today I graduate from 18650 to 26650 as I have met my new best friend who can supply me used parking meter packs for free, well almost free. I have to break down and test cells for him. So for how ever many I take, half is his. I took 280 cells today. His testing has yielded no bad cells, his lowest capacity cell is 28xx mAh. This time I will build a 16S100P the conventional way with spot welded nickel strips and a BMS. Any body seen this before? An Opus tester testing 26650’s on banks 1 and 4, banks 2 and 3 had wires solder to them leading to 26650 cell holders. My new friend is a genius. But my question is any real 26650 testers out there?

Congrats, make sure the switch located on the back side of the Opus inside the case is set to 3.7v. I have an Opus 3400 setup for testing LiFePO4 cells using 4 external 26650 cell holders. I have tested several hunderd A123 LFP 26650's.

That really is a jackpot and i'm very jelaous of it.
You can hack some 26650 holders onto the Opus charger like floydR already mentioned and change the voltage with the switch inside it.

Thanks FloydR, got my OPUS and flipped the switch, now it’s testing time. Figured out how not “jack-up” the inner cell bays. Had these perfect 18650 size spacers so I rigged some conductors to each end that I will run to the 26650 cell holders whenever Amazon decides to drop them off.

Nice hack, well done! As power supply I've been using some old ATX computer PSUs, they give 7A or more on the 12V wires; just need a Martinetti connector to hook the charger up. After burning two transformers I decided not buy more of those small plastic transformers...
