JK-B1A24S / JK-B2A24S Active Balancer

I'm confused on why you think I should be using a converter - what kind of a converter?

I plug my wifi adapter directly into the uart port of the BMS.
well, since they suggest it is rs485, I would use a max3485 connected to the esp and connect that to the BMS. I opened the bms to check the chips inside, but all I could find by quick check is 122U31 chips, which are digital isolators. So the internal processor probably speaks modbus directly at 3.3V TTL level and the additional RS485 module that can be bought is just a simple converter with a max3485 and step down voltage converter to expose a rs485 signal. I am building a test setup with 14s1p, the bms and an esp-link and will see if I get it working with or without the rs3485 converter

Just ordered three of this active balancers, in my case the 5A version JK-B5A24S. Still waiting for the delivery.
I want to connect it with some wires to my systems, want to avoid a instable BT connection.

Did anyone disassamble the device and had a close look at the board, especially where the BT chip is connected to or soldered on?
I assume that there is a simple UART/TTL/... connection to the chip? Guess when tapping on this wires, I would be able to communicate with the balancer too.

for the small versions you don't need to open or desolder them, just plug in a connector and you are set. I would ask jkbms support what the options are for external rs485 connections on these devices instead. They are usually quite responsive

I finally received my balancers (JK-B5A24S) but as expected, there is absolutely no connector for any communication. Guess I have to open it for some diggin :)

hi, I bought JKBDD24S10p BMS.

can i read the data in this with arduino. can i use rs485 port? I have the following max485 module.

Do you have sample circuit diagram and codes?

hi, also got JKB1A24S15P BMS.

will my home assistant (thru esphome) get the data from the BMS if i connect the RS485 port to ew11 rs485 to wifi converter?
I also have esp8266 and will it work the same as well?
