Anyone know if the Opus or digital charger 4s are ok to test LiFePO4 18650s?

:) :p

Hey guys,

This is for 18650s.

I took a punt and bought a 45 ah 12 lifepo4 battery on ebay, it had beenreturned for warranty. Sold as isno returns.

It was reading 0 volts on the terminals when it arrived.I pulled it apart, it has around 120 18650 cells inside. It looks like the bms has failed and killed one set of the cells (30).

So I've set the opus to the 3.7 v setting, charged and discharged four of the cells, they look like maybe 1350 mah cells, so not a total loss. The battery cost me $90 delivered, so about $1 per cell.

Ok so I've tested 20 or so of these LiFe cells with the Opus.
Have to say its abonus having the 3.7 volt function. I was a digital charger 4s fan but I'm coming around to the opus.

This setting is also useful for storage charge on li ion

I've drilled a hole in the back of the plastic case (warranty void)above the switch, so can switch it with a small screwdriver.

On a side note..the 30 cells with 0 volts, ive jump charged them in the imax and they are holding some charge, so will play with them and see what happens.

EDIT: Those 30 cells are confirmed dead
