I'm suggesting a clickable map where people who wish can have their location listed to help people find others located near them ?

I was about to ask for a similar add on. I think we could set it up by "general location" maybe the closest International airport? Then we can message those individuals privately if there is a sale or meetup that either person wants to attend.

Under the user preferences, you can add your location and allow it to be displayed. Depending on what you put there, you can have it as general as country, or as specific as a city.

Hi there,

it would be cool if we'd have something like this:

https://globe.sonnenbatterie.de/

Its pretty cool to see the network if you zoom in.

Would be nice to see the global diy powerwalls community network on a similar map. I mean, not as fancy (for now :) ), sure, but it would just be cool :)

We could use the location of each member and put the powerwall details into the popup.

Nice concept. But I dont know about you, it's super laggy and gittery. I wouldn't play around on that particular map program for long. Make a movement and wait several seconds for it to respond.

I think Mike had said he was going to see if mybb had location plugins/modules or whatever they are called. Not sure if he ever got around to it, though. *ponders*

I'd really like to play around a little with that. Actually it would "only" be JSON to feed the google api with.

First you need a GeoJSON-Data Set. Thats it for the markers. You just feed the api. The nice stuff, like the the Network Grid is actually just polylines:

@mike: If you like/interested i could set up some Code you could integrate with. If you can provide the necessary JSON, or base data through a plugin.
