I would have the opportunity to get new solar panel.
22 pieces each with 265 WP power (voc 37,72V and Vmpp 31,04V)
If I switch 2 serial (2 * 31,04V = 62,08 V) and 11 pieces in parallel I would get all 22 pieces.

Now the only question is if I get all the mountings I get a maximum of 5830 WP power (265 WP * 22 pieces).

The charger is rated at 80A / 4000W for the Solar Charger.

Now the question is, can I mount more power to the solar charger or do I have a problem or is it a problem and I would have more power in the winter and spring because the sun is weaker. And in the summer a maximum of 4,000 out of the 5,830. :s

Wenn ich jetzt je 2 Serial schalte (2*31,04V = 62,08 V) und 11 Stck Parallel wrde ich ja alle 22 Stck Montiert bekommen.

Jetzt ist nur die Frage wenn ich alle Montiere komme ich auf ein maximum von 5830 WP Leistung (265 WP * 22 Stck).

Der Lader ist angegeben mit 80A / 4000 Watt fr den Solar Charger.

Jetzt ist die Frage kann ich mehr Leistung an den Solarcharger Montieren oder habe ich dan ein Problem oder ist es kein Problem und ich htte im Winter und Fruhjahr mehr Leistung da die Sonne schwcher ist. Und im Sommer maximal die 4000 aus den 5830. :s

Danke fr Alle anregungen und Tips schonmal im vorraus.

You have to stay within the specifications regarding maximum power and maxmimum current, whatever comes first. The panels will probably be rated at 265/31,04 = ~8.5A Impp. A 2s11p setup will result in 93.5A and the already mentioned 5.8kW of power, both of which is too much. 2s9p will stay within the current specification but will still result in too much power, 61.04V*76.5A = 4746W (or simply 18*265 = 4770W). 15 panels is the maximum you can add to this charge controller, 3s5p seems reasonable.

However, if these panels are already used then they might have lost some maximum power and probably will never put out 265W anyway, even if they were new. You could mount 2 (or 3) in series and then add up parallel strings while measuring current to see how far you can go. However you still run the risk of reaching the limit of the charge controller before all panels are operational and you could end up with spare panels. But maybe you could put them to use with a second charge controller.

I don't know for sure but I would guess that the charge controller would simply turn off to protect itself. I'm sure you can find something about its behaviour in overload scenarios in the manual.

The manual says the charge controller has overcurrent, overload and overtemperature protection. Not all of these trigger on all possible inputs and outputs I guess, for example overload seems to be exclusively used for the inverter. So overcurrent might trigger on the solar input and possibly overtemperature as the unit will heat up more than the manufacturer has accounted for when sizing the cooling system.

Also, nowhere in the manual does it say that the charge controller has some sort of current or power limiting feature. And as this is nothing which is fitted as a standard to these units you can safely assume that it doesn't have it.

We could certainly do this in German but the generally used language is English so everyone can understand it. It wouldn't be polite to use a language many users won't understand as easily as English or possibly even not at all :)

If the charge current can be adjusted then the system has internal limiting capability. Step 1.

Next if the input current from your solar (94.71A from Imp of 8.61A x 11 parallel) does not exceed the maximum rated input current then you should be ok to connect more than 4000W of panels.

With the charger limited to 80A the actual power at a battery voltage of 52.8V is 4224W...

You need to find the maximum rated input current handling capability to determine how many panels you can connect without a true overload if it does not current regulate.

The reason is not when it is nice and sunny as Vmp will be high (approx 33V) and the Imp will be reduced (5.5A) for your panels if available power is over 4000W and regulated to 4000W but when the clouds pass or evening then Vmp is reduced a lot (say 22V) and then Imp is brought up and can then go above the rated current handling capacity.

The unit appers to have a minimum solar voltage of 40V which at 4000W would seem to indicate it can handle 100A adn you panels would only be capable of 95A without a short circuit.

My thought is that it would be ok to connect 2s11p solar config with the indicated panels to that unit but you need a little more research.

In winter I had about 5kW of solar connected (16A) to 2.5kW handling, which had an input current limit of 11A, during the day the Amps were low (4-6A) as the Vmp was very high (over 300V), evenings the amps would approach 11 as Vmp dropped significantly (150V or lower). Approching summer I had to disconnect some panels otherwise I would have overloaded the input current handling.
