There's a few things here to take note of. On absolutely fake items (we all know there is no such thing as a 100000mAh 18650) is that there are other accounts that post positive reviews to create a drive of legitimacy.

Yes, in fact I did do some (statistical) analysis to attempt to account for fake reviews. I'm fairly sure that most of those reviews were not fake. They probably were littleneeded back then since that was during the heyday of vapingwhenthere was extreme demand from many users who had little knowledge and fewer (cheap) tools.

There are some good people out there who attack these scammers

Indeed, I've seen that too, and have often encouraged folks to do so. Kudos to those who spend their time and money to help others that way.

One of the biggest issues with spreading the intelligent purchasing aspect of things is that the majority of the people who buy these cells are not on our forums

Yes, and that's why it helps to discuss them frequently on sites like this, since it will increase the chance that such discussion will get exposed near the top of google search results. To further increase the chance of such be sure your posts include buzzwords that people might search on(e.g. cell vendor, exaggerated capacity "10000 mAh", etc).

But this may be a moot point given recent reports that eBay is now banning naked cells. It will be interesting to see the ramifications of this on consumer availability.

Checking their eBay feedback raises some red flags, e.g. 2 negatives in the last 15 transactions with feedback "Do not buy damaged and swollen batteries, dangerous, explosive. I am disappointed" on one, and on the other"10 dead cells (very low voltage, some < 1V, other below 2.5V) out of 100...". Yet they claim "We check every cell for voltage, appearance and damage ... All cells are tested for capacity using MegaCellCharger (at 1A charge, 1A discharge)". Hmm...

The fact is that I checked their feedback, and I remember that something looked strange. The page showed a number of feedback posts but when I browsed there where just a little available. They where all positives.
My guess is that eBay page tries to do something (wrong) depending on buyer location or language.

Now let's see what eBay+paypal does on refund and if I have to freeze ask those boxes in case someone asks me for them in an undefined time...

For me, it wasn't expected to receive those kind of cells, being that the seller ads on this page, it also could be a powerwall user (I did streetview on his address and saw an amount of panels) and talks about that application on his shop.

There's that appreciable sweet smell where I have the cells stored. Should I look for more leaking cells or it is normal?

it's possible that the smell could be from residual leaks that still on them.

However, I would recommend going through them and lay them out on some cardboard or paper towels to see which ones are leaking. Do not rinse them in water or soap-water. You might be able to use alcohol to clean the residue off, but that might not work.
At least being on the cardboard, you'd see the leaking ones fairly easily at a glance.

Positive feedback on "fake" cells can be due to 2 reasons as i have seen

1. People buy the cell with no knowlede and just put them into something and they "work". They dont test nor do they care about capacity.
2. The reviews are fake from the start :)

So when looking at reviews today you actually need to account for what type of buyer it was and the response. I never look at revies stating "It worked". i always look for revies that state some fact about the product. Same with negative.

If they got 1 or 5 negative that just states "fake seller" or "product didnt work" i dont really bother much unless thats the only revies. I look for negative like "The product was not as advertised, the capacity was only xxx out of yyy"

Above of course as an example from 18650 cells. Have to be put into view to other type of products.

Its a bit of gamle buying stuff unseen. People think they get away not meeting people and actually talking to the other side. Something that often do alot!

Kori has just brought this to my attention - this is not good enough for this community but it really is up to you to sort it out with him. What I can do is stop my channels from promoting till he cleans up his game. I'll make those changes now and have a chat to the moderators here to take the approate action!

Hello from my side, I sended Sergio a email.

Let me tell my side of the story:

14-7-2020 i recieved a email from Sergio he asked me if i had 1400 cells with a capacity of 2200-2399mah, we had a agreement on price.
After that i went on a long holiday with my family and let my employee run the business and do the shipments like they have to do shipments.
This shipment is a total disaster i can see and read here, some people sended me a message trough Ebay telling my about this so im back from holidays and will take this very serious.
Already had a good conversation with all of my employee and i will NEVER NEVER let my shop open again or do shipments again when im not there.

First of all they need to check all the cells, what they didnt even do i can see on the pictures.
So i already mailed Sergio im gonna take care of his whole situation and he gets refunded for all broken not ussable sells or the total ammount for all the problems he had with these cells.

We have a good reputation on Ebay, with of courese some negative but we always try to do the right things like refund or something, but always there will be people who are angry and its their good right to be they have to be critical.

I want to let this forum know that what happened here will be take care of and that we do not scam or send these cells on purpose we have sold allot of cells to customors over whole Europe and we want to be a good source of used cells for the community. That all people who react on this post are right if i was in Sergio's place i would do the same and I should have named the scammer. But i wasnt aware of this, im lucky some people told me on ebay what was going on, even HB powerwall sended me a messag to take care of this so I will.

Hope you people see that we are not scammers or we send bad cells on purpose but what happened here may never happen again. When im off from business i close the shop and there will be no shipments cause i want to check before they leave here.

Hope you guys understand my position from the story.

Dear Tim, I'm glad you're back and we can solve this situation. I've already contacted you to all the mailboxes you sent me.

You are right, at first time I intended to ask you for 2400mAh cells, but I realized that this wasn't a popular capacity and I couldn't be as easy to get them in quantities. And of course, I didn't have that much money either. So I wrote you again for the 2200s and I suppose it was when you left for holidays. I could not establish a fluid conversation and finally it was something like placing an offer for the prices we talked and seen in the forums and receiving a rejection. So I sent a copy of our conversation and someone finally processed the order. Now more understandable.

But I must admit that when I unpacked the cells I did not know what face to show. It seemed to me not logical all that nice packaging, markings and careful voltages, with such amount of heatersand damaged cells. Now I suppose I received some boxes sent apart by error.
So let's solve the problem and turn the page.I'm still inneed forthose 1400cells for the battery. So I'm willing to make a deal for getting a replacement. If you notice, I did not leave any negative feedback on ebay, and I'm glad we can solve it before ebay or paypal does something more.

I have been talking with Tim, the owner of the company for a couple of days, and I have to say that he has always been a very nice person and committed to reaching a solution.
It is understandable that as the situation goes, it is increasingly difficult to find second-hand material, with high standards for safety as we require. Just imagine in large quantities.
Despite the initial problem, I am a bit in tune, since I have also tried to start some business projects and honestly, I was not able to square them as things are today.
I'll let you know when it's resolved, but there is very little left.

yes have a own company with some or a lot of staff...you cant go on a holiday, unless you have staff that you know and can thrust.
In my case i have 8 solid people, de groot has what 50....60....
Sometimes you hire someone for a job and it looks all oke...but then they want to get fired or had a argument.
Our social system works in strange ways, if you get fired you get money to do nothing>

De groot never fails on me, i ordered and received 5000+ healthy cells over a span of over 1 year.
With the contact i had with him plus the prices, i must say: that all this, that was wrote in this thread, is VERY hard to belief for me.
I think also he knows exactly who it was that did this damage/carnage.
I never received a cell below 92% soh from him or a damaged one.
And if there was one by accident it was settled quicker than you could far*.
Sorry i had to have this off my chest.
I my option he is honest and hardworking man, obeying all the (new)dutch rules(give him hell 2 years ago) and you will get what you paid for, no questions asked, quality delivered.

With best regards Igor

Perhaps you should DM them directly instead of posting to an old thread that may not get read by them, considering they didn't start this thread.

We made the order in the same days; on my orders, I have two orders, Ebay says on both they haven't been shipped; BUT there's another page in Ebay where it might say the product has actually been shipped and also give you an ETA (don't ask me why it doesn't show this in the normal order list).
If you click on the top menu on "Help and contacts" (I have the menu in Italian, so I'll attach he screenshots so you can see what I'm saying) it will give the list of all your orders.

From there you get the visual list of all orders and you may be able to get extra information about the shipment, like in my case. The screenshot is this one:

Now, if you click on the photo of the batteries you will get a popup box, see photo below, and there's a link saying something like "Help for an object you didn't receive/hasn't arrived". Click on that.

And finally the hidden info comes out, that is that the order has been shipped and there's a lovely estimated date yeah!

Translation: Your product is arriving. You product has been shipped and should arrive before 1st June 2021.

Don't really know if this is true and how this info got there but it's all I have!
Hope that helps.
