Amazing setup!

I do have a question about your initial posting where you shared a picture of your 'charging' wall. What are the 3 boards each connected to a single cell?

The top part makes me a bit nervous when holding the pack from falling.

I just used pla for top and bottom. All the weight is on the bottom. Top doesn't really do much other than keep it from tipping out or side to side. Think 25% infill, don't really remember what i did but that's normally my go to infill on pla.

Oh, man. I didn't think you were using PLA. I made new designs based on the 80p modules and the base is decently strong with ABS 10% infill, but the top sheers if I yank on it. I'll bump my infill up to 25% and see what that does. If it's still weak, I'll consider adding a solid infill every certain number of layers.

I've got a spool of the bright orange PLA, may give that a try overnight.


I was also thinking of printing a block the size of the opening (79.5) so that I don't need to print supports each time. Did you do similar? Or simply print supports each time?
 
ya i'd had issues printing ABS too. Very hard to print without separating layers and warping. PLA is so much easier to print with. As long as it's not in a high temp environment PLA is usually pretty strong with a decent infill.
 
Progress update
Finished printing the holders for my cell phone battery pack. Got the first cell wired up with fuses today.

They took forever to print, couldn't even guess on total time but been working on it for many months. This pack should add another 5kwh or so. Should have around 11kwh in capacity not counting my 2kwh retired pack that i might repurpose for when i go camping.
 
The new power shed is finally getting started. :D

Maybe I need a power shed. I have solar and battery power to spare.

What are the dimensions. Will it be weatherboard, I think you guys call it timber siding?

All good, I wish I could spend more time on my own forum.. sometimes i look at stuff here and go dam that looks great, then look at the date lol
 
I can clearly see he used popscicle sticks and glued them together and then took a picture with his 10yr old phone camera :p

New pack finally installed and hooked up. Liking the extra capacity, time to get some more solar panels though. 1kw of panels isn't enough for almost 11kwh of batteries.
