hi, can anyone give me any advice about running a high voltage solar array and battery pack

i want to use a complete nissan leaf battery pack

i have found a forum post that shows how to get a bms system using the android app leafspy
would this be adequate for a home system?

the problem im not sureabout is how to charge it? are there mppt solar charge controllers that work at 360v?

would it be possible to run the solar array at a high voltage also to reduce current and increase efficiency

any advice on a system like i describe would be greatly appreciated!!

What are you using to communicate with the battery pack?

Ben,

for charging:
perhaps take a look at TC charger, Brusa etc for charging at voltages upto 400Vdc
TC charger is perhaps the cheapest, sourced from Aliexpress:

progress HVdc chragers/inverters, can controlled connected to EV second-life batteries:
There is a Dutch team trying to reverse engineer ev oem bms boards, main programmer is Tom de Bree, bms called SIMPbms
we didn't hada chance to take a look at the Leaf BMS, but would be glad if someone could sniff out the can protocol.

All work is on Github, and open source,
trying to port the SIMPbms to High Voltage inverter/chargers like the Solax X-hybrid range, or SMA Sunny Boy storage is in planning.

But help is needed from the community, we need help, hoping a user of the above products to sniff can protocol, and share this with the development team of SIMPbms, Tom de Bree, Daniel Boekel, or me.

We do have SIMPbms working on Victron via can to Victron GX, and can control all models inverter/chargers from Victron,
new succes>>>SMA Sunny Island ~48Vdc range 3.3, 4.4, 6 ,8 Kw range
but currently "only" LVdc ~48V

When you say "we" - could I ask what role you are playing in the development team ?

Wolf already has full control of the usefulLeaf BMS features, and has documentation.

Well Sean,
any particular reason why you are asking??

Does there need to be a reason ?

Is there any reason why you are so reluctant to answer my very simple question ?

Sean, thanks a lot for your contribution,
will see to contact "Wolf"

The work of Daniel B and Tom dB is well known and documented elsewhere, I was was simply curious where you fitted fitted into the "development team" - that's all.

It was just a simple open question.By not answering, you've indirectly answered the question, so thank you.
