Anyone know about these purple 'skinnys'? They are approx 16mm dia instead of the normal 18mm dia. They come in a bit lighter at 38 grams too. shown against a normal 18650
My question is......if they fit the capacity and IR criteria, can I use them. tia and Cheers, Paul

You surely can. I have a few of these slim cells, orange colour, capacity around 1800mAh. I can't find them, surely used them for something around the house :)

The purple cell looks to be longer than the 18650 in the photo, there are protected 16650's would account for the difference in length or a 16670 cell? I have never seen one but they do exist.

just double checked. They are the same length, are testing around the 1700mAh with IR around the 60mOhm mark. These are from the thin (one cell width) laptop batteries.

I get a lot of these, and while I don't personally use them in packs, you should be able to. As long as you're okay w them potentially not being as secure as an 18650. Also, even though I'm getting good IR on them, since they have less mass, they all have less capacity, and don't fit into my packs in that respect. But they're usually quite healthy. I set them aside and save them for solo projects: speakers, radio, laser pointer, flashlight ect.
