Have access to some Server UPS's on the weekend as well as some faulty ones for copper for busbar would anyone in Brizzy be interested ? they won't be too expensive but I do have to buy them from recycling centre I'll take a bunch of photos when I'm there if I'm aloud.. might be a cheaper way of people getting into their projects.

I would be... but damn international shipping. The place I've been getting them from hasn't had any of the high powered models recently. The 700va ones I got don't have the wide copper winding, just heavy gauge winding wire that's no good. :?

I'll have a look anyway - see what we can play with :) might make for some good videos, need some new material

I'm still interested in what you find. All price dependant of course. Maybe if the lead acid batteries were sold back to the scrap merchant, the rest of the hardware could bo cheap enough to freight?

How much do you get for lead acid battery scrap? I have close to 300 pounds of them in my garage from UPS's.

Current prices are at 40 cents a kilo at my scrap joint. It has been higher in the past but even at this price combined with the weight of a descent sized battery the pay is still ok.

Do they take scrap lithium ion too?
