Our SolarMax inverter has been a solid performer for many years, however it is almost at the end of it's life. The external casing has begun leaking when it rains, and I fear it wont be long and the water will get to something vital.

So rather than wait I want to get ahead of the game, so am seeking advice on a replacement grid tied solar inverter. I am located in Melbourne Australia, so am looking for a qualified installer to supply and install the inverter.

Have been looking at a Fronius inverter, but open to suggestions of other inverter brands I should be considering. I am also thinking about adding additional solar panels to up the solar capacity, so if I can find a decent installer I would look to them to possibly add more panels.

My system was previously installed by a company called the Mark Group. Not even sure if they are around, or whether or not they would do an update for a reasonable price.

Look forward to advice and suggestions.

Mark,
Hope your well,
I'd suggest you go for one of the newest Chinese produced inverters like Sofar Solar, Deye, Sunsink, Goodwe, etc.
These are hybrid inverters, also able to connect to a li-ion battery using a variety of bms, most inverter producers have inverter models for LV and HV
We are working on Sofar Solar HYD series to work with our latest product GRNbms, designed to work with OEM VW ID.series ev battery modules, and cmu's, using a Pylontech battery code

check this youtuber Hubert Maxi Service from Poland, that got me to the idea, all in polish no subtitles, but looking at the video you get it
If Hubert can, more will follow

Unfortunately, local regulations are tight here in Australia & installers have to follow CEC requirements for users to get government grid feed-in tariffs, etc so installers will only connect a unit that's on the "approved models" list.

Greetings Carel,

Great to hear from you. Hope things are going well up north in beautiful Alkmaar. Thank you for the advice, much appreciated.

I've been in touch with several local companies and it looks like GoodWe inverters may be the way to go as they have a 10 year warranty and utilise the latest inverter technology.

We are in a bit of a hurry as the old inverter is not going to last much longer, so it will be good to find an inverter that does a reasonable job.

Take care, Mark

Yes, I'm leaving it up to a registered installer as this inverter will be grid connected, so I need to make sure it's all done correctly.

Mark, try to locate Yasko from Bulgaria, on this forum, he made a port from ES series Goodwe to HV battery, nice reading

we are in the proces connecting our GRNbms to Goodwe ET/BT inverters for VW ID.series battery pack
