Hello All


I newbie here with new problem and tons of question ;)

yesterday I had delivered GTW1000 24V RS485 SOYOSOURCE - HURRAY


and I had some expectation that all will works on first attempt - but sadly dint
I spend 4 hours try set up "crappy" WIFI dongle and app but not works for me for this reason looking for help here please

on beginning try register on soyo app but no success with my email - after 1 hour I understand with this “1/2 EN 1/2 China app” user name needs to be with normal characters only

I try set my WIFI to 2.4Ghz only channel 3 but no good-damm way how to connect to my WIFI when “Blue LED”

I try AP mode “Red LED “but as well dongle issue connect for 1 sec and dongle restart I saw all 3 LED blink – light for 2 sec and start dongle again - WIFI disappear from list – what a frustrating evening …. 4 hours of lost my life …. :mad:

tried all on this manual (n)


I contact seller with query of not working WIFI dongle but they saying my WIFI isn’t OK and is not stable
They just saw WIFI 6 mark on my screenshot “crazy” and they think Iam on 5GHz network and information like connect DC input to inverter
Not really helpful from this side yet - will see how this issue will be solved


Than please anyone any idea how I can use this inverter without working dongle please ? right now no output from GTIL ...

I sorted wifi now and manual works OK by WIFI or web / apk

But dealing new issue I cant enable limiter any ideas please

Just ordered USB to RS485 dongle to see if invertor working but if anyone have any ideas please need them

I spend some time today with Invertor to see RS485 lines by scope to find out why limiter not works - HAHA check video no 2 :cool:

But now I have small other issue with limiter - my solar system is in shed and clamp will be before Invertor in house and feed by wifi rs485 bridge
example - I find out if run more than 700 W for example 2kW kettle and power goes back to 100W idle invertor still pushing to grid 600W :mad:
- is the way how to set limiter to stop push power back to grid ?

Connection right now:

Grid -> CT -> House ->Inverter in Solar Shed

Did you look at the Github project from KlausLi? His project works very nice with the Shelly EM3...
 
Not yet I try gain some knowledge and experience first and will see what can do but thx for links 😉

Just quickly checked KlausLi GitHub but his inverter not have WIFI and he used his WIFI solution to transmit RS485.

In my case is different I have WIFI dongle build in and I can accesses anywhere over WEB browser or APP OK.

I only trying to find out way how make this inverter most automatized in different way of connecting current clamp.

Connection right now:
Grid -> CT -> House ->Inverter in Solar Shed

Sorry, I forgot that it's written in German - it works with both models display/wifi dongle - What he did was to take away the original current meter and connect a RS485 + Wemos (with his software) to the green RS485 port on the inverter.

The Wemos is then controlling the inverter and if you also connect to a Shelly EM3 (or mqtt) - the wemos then reads the value from the EM3 and tells the inverter to only push that amount. This setup is handy if you have the EM3 in your fuse box and the inverter in a garage / shed because the data is transmittet via wifi.

If you want to build your own system, then there is a long thread on this forum, with source code and explanation about the serial commands to send...

Just for now covering all house manually by WEB settings and works OK

Waiting to RS485 wifi bridge to arrive to start experiment ;)

Try connected betwean Transmitter CT and Reciever Inveror but not working

Just every sec I have red TX blink and RX green on 2nd board

Manual attached if someone can help

Did anyone know what bautrate need to be set?
I belive default on wifi rs485 is set to 9600

But don't know invertor and CT speed

Need to sniff somehow

Great I been think of same

I will try solder both CMD pins
- after telnet CMD AT+BAUD=2
- desolder CMD
- test

Update

send command over CMD mode and all works OK

now RX/TX 4800baud, 8 data, 1 stop

BTW when is in CMD mode both LED Lith-up

I tested in House and usual idle of house is 120W and when I connected CT on input mains before Inverter (inverter in shed as back-feed source) all power is settle down to 1/2 of real house demand - and I can live with this limiter - more test will bring info in some week or two ;)
