As a workaround you could try Google Translate for websites and choose French as a language in the toolbar at the top of the screen:

I use an addon called TWP - Translate Web Pages. You right click on the page and click on translate, and it'll change the page to your language (most of the time). Works pretty good for me so far.

Doesn't work on images, of course.

DeepL translator. Makes google translate look like kindergobbledegook.
I use it to talk to my Romanian friend who buys my surplus 18650 cells. It is Brilliant.
