On the other hand - I just had 63 days of continuous sunshine.... which means SEVERE DROUGHT in our region... which breaks my heart for the farmers. Sun is a mixed blessing as well.
 
Ah yes but the garden we can water with the hose if we so choose to, Sun on the other hand we can only capture when it is well "sunny".
That is were storage planning comes into the picture. Sizing the battery capacity plus potential house load with your solar production is key for sustaining several days of low solar production. Dito on the farmers though. They generally don't have that big of a hose.

Yeah, that is not good.
My garden is watered from my old SLA solar system. Which just took a turn for the stupid after several years. I had a 20 A in-line fuse (like cars use these days) and somehow, someway, it had a poor connection (I had looked at this system multiple times with the IR and saw no problems). The fuse got hot and melted down right on top of one of the batteries--I had put a breaker in a year ago or so, but just stupidly left the in-line fuse there. The stupid solar charge controlled showed the battery as fully charged when I checked.so I thought everything was going fine. In reality the batteries were draining down to dead--which the inverter finally told me--doh!
Now I am in the process of seeing if any of the batteries are ruined or not. Just going to individually charge them to full charge and see if they can get there. Of course, I want to do that with the solar system, and do not expect much if any sun today, and not a lot until Thursday.
Fun, fun, fun.
Fortunately, my powerwall battery seems to be able to handle a day or two of almost no sun, and even cloudy days there is enough sun to get the system almost fully charged, so I am happy.
