Tier 1 Inverter Manufactures

I have always been a bit particular to Victron, but in hopes to keep an open mind and do some research, I wanted to compile a small list of Tier 1 inverter brands.

These are brands that would be available in the USA, and be used in professional grade residential or commercial solar applications.

SMA SunnyBoy
Enphase

Can anyone help with any others?

Do you all consider MagnaSine a Tier1? I've always been intrigued by their 96% efficiency and multi-unit cooperation to auto-turn on/off as demand rises.

Poz is doing videos comparing them to growatts. In some ways it’s not a good comparison meaning SolArk has many more features but other simple things like unbalanced legs/loads the growatts are killing it

Yea i was kinda shocked when he has it shut down so many times. But his data aquisition is a little basic for my liking I'd like to see what kind of draws per leg it shut down on. They are great but any inverter is going to have to stop somewhere

I have a pair AIMS ETL 12,000w(s) that list 88% as 'peek' efficiency. Features are really good for the off-grid individual component niche and they have been running reliably and have actually delivered 40,000kwhs of power so far. BUT....

Efficiency, efficiency, efficiency... I'm loosing 3000kwh/year at 84% average efficiency per year on the AIMS. I'm starting to think of 'top tier' must include efficiency for big $

Is SolArk 12K all-in-one really 97% efficient as this link of specs seems to indicate - https://www.sol-ark.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/12KSpecSheet_9-24-2021.pdf At this rate I'd only loose 540kwh instead of 3000kwh / year.


I just looked up MagnaSine - https://ironedison.com/images/products/Magnum/MS and PAE Invertwers/Magnum_MS_Inverter_Chargers _SPEC_SHEETS_Iron_Edison.pdf and its only showing AIMS level at 87% for MS4024...


I think I'm making efficiency a requirement for 'top tier' in my mind

I think it is, but depending on the application. It's a brand that seems to have a good following in the RV crowds. I think its good equipment, but I also think there are other brands that are better for stationary applications.

Wow that is a massive amount of power Lost I think I'm sitting at about 91% with my pip lv2424-hs but that is reated and not actual.
