Get up this morning expecting to have to wait till late in the day for my inverter to arrive. I check The ups site delivery window 8:30 am-12:15 pm it is now almost 4 pm still nothing. Now Ups says delivery by 9 pm. I will believe that when it happens.

Better go check the end of your driveway and see if they left it on the road front. They do that here all the time. They left over $400 worth of computer parts sitting just 20ft off the road quite visible by anyone driving by with their lights on. This was around 9pm.

:) I have been home all day plus instructions were place on porch. I would drove over it if it was in front of driveway when I put my car back in the driveway.

Feel like a kid who was promised a red ryder bb gun but got a leg lamp instead.
OH well it will show up I hope.

hahah, yeah, when your driveway is <50ft long :p

Mines about 800Ft long. They "used" to bring it to the door. Then the warehouse boss said they could leave it at the end of the driveway if they couldn't get to the house. Problem is, there is plenty of places to put the packaging out of site from the road, but visible to any of us driving down the driveway. But noooooo, they can't walk the additional 50ft to put it in a "safe" location.
I'm waiting for packages to be stolen because of it so I can take it to the next level. Because the corporate level requirements are, "safe and secure" location. Dropping a package off on the road front is not secure.

Another day another disappointment I called customer support around 3:15 pm after endless robot questions I opted to stay on the line to speak with a customer representative while waiting computer voice comes on the line saying your package can't be delivered as address did I still want to wait yes then another computer voice comes on saying we are having network problem goodbye. So I go for a walk I swear the ups driver must have been waiting around the corner and when i was gone he pulls up. Doesn't leave the package (I had signed a release) so I am hot, call customer service this time I actually get a person. I will have to drive over and pick it up myself.
Waiting on a call back to find out when I can pick it up.
ok I am better now </rant>

Let me 'rub it in a bit' (ha ha). I'm really lucky in my current situation for package delivery. Heck, the USPS sometimes walks it up to the front door which saves me a trip to the mailbox. Also, freight trucks can easily stop and deliver panels right in the driveway for an easy push to the garage :)

One thing about DIY solar - I've probably done more online ordering than *ever* over the years to get everything. Seems like a never ending stream of cells, panels, wire, holders, solder, circuit breakers, bms(s), relays, leds, connectors, x, y, z, and repeat, and repeat, and ....... :)

Same here usually ups/fed ex/dhl/usps are great. Sometimes like this one I want to scream. The Byd batteries the guy off loaded and placed them right where I wanted them. That is all I have bought that needed a freight truck until now.
